Big Dave speak: the Dolphins are going with the hot hand because we do not have a #1 RB on the roster ... and, don't draft any in your fantasy leagues. This is the Belicheat approach to running backs, and Gaskin and Ahmed are quick and shifty backs, but they do not break tackles. The OL needs to step up and provide the holes. Gaskin is the better pass blocker, but Ahmed is the better home run hitter.

Speaking Tuesday, Dolphins coach Brian Flores said he would use the Dolphins' top three backs "situationally" this season.https://www.nbcsportsedge.com/edge/foot ... les-gaskin
“We are going to use them situationally as best fits their skill set and what’s best for the team," Flores said, building on comments he made Monday. "Myles Gaskin can play first, second, third down, but depending on the situation, we may put another player in there. Malcolm Brown is a little bigger, what you may consider a power back. Myles is change of pace, good quickness. Salvon Ahmed has good speed, coming out of the backfield. They all played well in the preseason game.” Calling Gaskin a "change-of-pace back" is not a comforting compliment for anyone who has drafted him this summer, even if Flores' words followed an initial salvo about his ability to play all three downs. Flores' Patriots Way quotes are adding some confusion to the mix, adding a boom/bust element to Gaskin at his current ADP.
