In case you missed it, Tannythrill has another weapon at Tennessee.

Nice move by the Titans.

NBC Sports Edge wrote:
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Falcons are trading Julio Jones and a 2023 sixth-round pick to the Titans for a 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 fourth-round pick.

The Falcons get a likely late second-round pick and a swap on Day 3 for Jones after no teams were willing to meet their first-round price. The Titans don’t have the cap space for Jones’s full $15.3 million salary and will need to restructure him or another player before it's finalized. Jones gives Tennessee an outside receiver to pair with A.J. Brown after moving on from Corey Davis, and will open up an offense that averaged the third-fewest passing plays per game last year. Ryan Tannehill's deep accuracy doesn't fit with Jones, and playing opposite Brown won't offer much of an upgrade for Jones in terms of targets, but the 32-year-old should have more of a red-zone presence after being held to nine touchdowns in 24 games with Atlanta the past two seasons.

The Falcons post on Julio Jones after had fans asking if he died.

:haha

Yes.

He played well by not really playing much at all.

:haha

T Hill is having success the same way a lot on this board said for years was the only way he could. The guy is surrounded by talent now and is bottom 3 in pass/rush ratio. He’s exactly where he needs to be.

But some of that has to do with them running RPO, kinda like Baltimore, Arizona and New England did.

I'd hate to be a breakable item in Mak's house when he sees Tannehill hoist the Lomardi Trophy

Jammer. Put down the ipa that will never happen. He will throw a pick at the worse time like last year.

Unfortunately, I will always think of Tannehill folding in the 4th quarter in December. He's very talented, but something is missing between the ears sometimes. Flores has to change that loser mentality that this team seems to get when playoffs are certain and depends on the Dolphins winning that last couple of games.

I loved Tanny, but he seemed to disappear when we needed him to be the man.

Yep. Disappear in a sea of the opposing jersey color less than 2 seconds after receiving a snap.

And since he has acquired these things, he has 55 TDs, 13 INTs and a 20-10 win loss record as a starter.

Yep, as I said, he's a good quarterback and the Dolphins would have gotten the same out of him that the Titans did if they surrounded him with talent. Still, I'm curious to see how he fairs at the end of the season when the Titans need him to win and the running game isn't working. With the Dolphins, he faded at the end of the season with the rest of the team. Something in his game is missing. That doesn't mean that he will not develop it with the Titans. I hope he does because I was always a Tannehill fan.

He played one of the worst games in a playoff win in NFL history at New England, WC round 2019. His team won...but his defense shut Brady out entirely in the 2nd half & Derrick Henry ran for 200 yards & a TD.

T Hill went 8 of 15 for 70 yards total with one TD, an INT and 2 fumbles. He played every snap but one. He somehow still managed to pull off a 41 passer rating. He should’ve kissed everybody’s cleats when he got back to the locker room.

T Hill has one of the most obvious lacks of a killer instinct in a QB with the amount of starting experience he has that I may have ever seen. As much as I’d like to see a franchise like Tennessee net a Lombardi, I’m almost entirely convinced it will never happen under T Hill.

QBs that lack killer instinct don't have 22 4th quarter comebacks and 22 game winning drives.

Quote:
Tannehill is no stranger to the big moment. The events of this season leading up to the matchup with the Texans prepared him for his latest fourth-quarter flurry.

In the just-completed regular season, he led the NFL with five fourth-quarter comebacks and six game-winning drives in the fourth-quarter or overtime. In games decided by one possession, the Titans went 7-2.

Quote:
With Tannehill under center last year, the Titans offense found a new life.

That unit went from being shut out by the Denver Broncos on Oct. 13, 2019 to scoring at least 20 points in the next 10 games and more than 30 in five of the final seven. That momentum carried over into the 2020 NFL season, which saw Tannehill throw for 3,819 yards and a career-high 33 touchdowns.

Tannehill and the Titans finished second in the NFL in average yards per game (396.4) and fourth in points per game average (30.7).

Nothing about T Hill makes sense Rich we all know this.

:)

Just admit you’d never put money on a playoff performance. If coach gave us a chance you & I could have bested 70 yards in 3 hours.

This makes sense.

1. He played on a team with poor offensive talent and was mediocre.

2. He played on a team with solid offensive talent and was good.

and...

1. The team with a defense and a running game was sputtering with another quarterback.

2. The team with a defense and a running game became a potent offense with him at quarterback.

Let's not complicate things. It's as simple as the scenarios above indicate.

If you had your gambling shoes on would you ever get financially behind him during a playoff game? He’s a game manager.

Mariota was more of a wildcard whose game couldn’t cut it at the top level and it’s more difficult to unite a team around a guy like that especially when he’s sputtering. T Hill is much more in the traditional QB mold. If you have a solid roster ALREADY built, yes, you can plug in play him into more wins than maybe the prior guy.

I only bring up gambling because it’s the only thing as a fan that gets your skin in the game. It’s a hypothetical put up or shut up.

I don't understand the gambling angle. He did what he did as the stats show. Gambling neither adds to or takes away what he has already accomplished.

That depends. How many injuries does the team have? Are they playing on the road? In cold weather? Who are they playing? How many injuries does the other team have? Has anyone paid off the refs?

Point was it’s easy to swing to either side of the argument as a fan. Maybe I should’ve prefaced it by asking if he was the head coach, would he be confident in T Hill leading his offense in elimination games? I was just flipping the other side of the coin to the fan angle. It’s just a hypothetical asking him if he was so sure about Ryan’s sexy stats, would he bet on him in an elimination game. Simple.

I’ll take that as a negative ghost rider. Nobody is putting their @ss on the line for Ryan Tannehill. Be a great story to see him pull it off since he’s a solid role model but...ain’t gonna happen. Even with a dream squad around him in Tennessee of all places.

I wouldn't bet on any quarterback if their star players are injured and they are playing on the road in rainy weather against a top defense.

So that sort of sets your straw man argument ablaze.

You propped up a supposed straw man with a straw man of your own. You need to sharpen your own straw first before coming at mine. It takes two to tango.

If using facts is now a form of straw man argument, then you are 100% correct.

You win *under this delusional scenario*

I’m still waiting for the celebrity rubber match between him & Bongino.

Bongino is currently sitting comfortably as a -25000 favorite. If you bet $1 or a can of Brown’s iced cola on Ben and he wins you’ll get $1,000,000.

Nah Ben would rip Bongino a new one with facts and logic. I like Bongino, but he's more histrionics and theatrics than sound, logical, unemotional arguments.

Ben is the corporate voice and Bongino is more heavily leaned into real world/blue collar. Simple as that for me. I hear Ben has had quite the interest in real estate lately.

Pouring some salt in our wounds over the QB position over the years since Dan the Man. I think it's the curse of Dan Marino as he begged for one more year, but JJ convinced Wannstedt that he couldn't win with him.
