I think it's either going to be Tua or a veteran starting for us in 2022. The Dolphins will be tired of going the rookie route as it takes time to develop a rookie QB, and he may not develop into a franchise QB. Also, a good veteran QB can get the offense rolling quickly and should have the mentality and experience on how to throw behind a young OL.

Tua has shown enough thus far to indicate he will develop into our QB for the next few years at least. Unless he regresses through the rest of the season, we shouldn’t have to worry about investing significant draft capital or free agent dollars in a replacement. However, I think we should draft later round QBs in case we hit on a diamond in the rough.

IMO, this upcoming draft is like the 2011 draft where Qb's who are not worthy will be drafted higher than their ability suggest, simply because of the position they play. For those who might not recall. 2011 is the draft that saw

Can Newton goes No. 1. - Decent career.
Jake Locker go No. 8. ( Injuries / desire ended career after 4 yrs )
Blaine Gabbert go No. 10 ( Last 3 yrs as a starter. Still in the NFL, but never more than a backup. )
Christian Ponder go NO. 12 ( Last 3 yrs as a starter, back up for a couple yrs on other team - Out of NFL, after 4 yrs )

Oddly enough, the 2nd Round QBs - Kaepernick and Dalton - had more success than the big names outside of Newton.

There is definitely limited hype at best around this year's class.

I don't have much yet. Zeroing in on a few guys I want with that first round pick.

Next offseason I'd like to see Miami be a bit more aggressive with FAs rather than rely on just youth. I'd like to see Ogbah and Gesicki locked up as well.

If we still have Grier and company running the show I'm not even going to pretend to guess what they'll do.

Yup. We have their 1st Rounder this year and next year.

As of right now it is looking like a top 15 pick.

Philly has Miami's this year, plus two other and all are top 10 picks at this point.

Well….I can see Corral being a first rounder for sure….an Eagle? Willis, later in round 1? Early round 2?

I think it's time for history to repeat itself.

Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh, 6-2, 220, Redshirt Senior

Willis may end up being in that Jordan Love realm where he is the most talented but too raw for teams to gamble in the top 10.

Corral maybe the 1st QB off the board.

The big question being raised is Pickett's hand size. Might be a death blow to his draft status.

He does have a chance to be the poor man's Joe Burrow of this draft if the measurables pan out.
