The Dolphins brought in 5 wide receivers yesterday for a work out. After cutting Derek Hagan this week the Dolphins could use another receiver. If you haven't noticed, only receivers who can play special teams will be active on game day. This makes me think that signing Ernest Wilford was a hasty decision and could have used more thought. Wilford does not play special teams.
So, I guess you are like me and are wondering who was brought in for a look. It wasn't anyone with a name. In fact, Camarillo said tha the did not recognize anyone.
What's Up With Miami's Suffocating Defense?
The Dolphins defense is playing outstanding lately and it was against outstanding quarterbacks Trent Edwards and Jay Cutler. Did you see the confusion on Cutler's face? Cutler was not the same quarterback that he was on Thursday night. The Dolphins defense, led by Defensive Coordinator Paul Pasqualoni, are starting to confuse offenses. And it is good to see the secondary starting to step things up with excellent play. Most improved has got to go to Andre Goodman.
Did anyone imagine the Dolphins being .500 this season. Come on, you just do not go from 1-15, change out half the personnel, and have a couple back-to-back wins. I mean, people are starting to use the "P-word" which is playoffs and that tells you the hope that Parcells has brought to this franchise. It has been more than 2 years since we've even won as many as we've lost.
What is the secret of success? Mainly it's not beating themselves and never quitting at any point in any game. It feels nice, eh?
The Porter and Matt Jones Thing
I think we should just get used to the fact that Porter has diahrea of the mouth. He just cannot help himself. As long as he is putting it on the field I think he can say whatever he wants to.Are you going to tell him that he can't? One thing odd about it is that Porter actually attempted to give Matt Jones an apology.
Does Sparano Have A Twin Separted At Birth?
All right. You know that I have too much time on my hands when I come up with crap like this, but I actually do not. When I saw a picture of Obama's pastor, friend and mentor, the Reverend Wright, it looked just like Coach. Take a look at it and tell me that I am not lying! LOL.
ESPN Insider has a pretty cool feature where they similate games for you. According to the similation, the Dolphins beat the Seahawks 34-21. Chad Pennington completed 72% of his passes, threw for 338 yards, and had 2 touchdowns. Ronnie Brown rushed for 95 yards at 5.0 ypc, and Ricky chipped in another 55 yards at 4.5 ypc. Ted Ginn had 4 catches for 64 yards, and Rich Camarillo had 4 catches for 61 yards. With the Seahawks pass defense ranked near the bottom of the league, I guess Penny can throw it 338 yards.
Being 4-4 at this point in the season & with many more winable games left on the schedule I think we need to be reminded how far we have come & that grred can put us right back where we came from.
The course that this regime has put forward while sometimes still critisized seems to be on the right track. While there are no real clear strong teams in the AFC except for Tennessee & Pittsburgh , having wins over teams like Denver , New England & San Diego no matter how depleted those teams are surely makes us relevant again.
Which is why I still get tired of seeing those threads abour signing overpriced guys who have been cut with really no merit except name recognition when they were once in their prime. No team is going to cut a KGB or deanfelo Hall for no reason & it is time to realize that. getting greedy & signing these guys would kill the chemistry that this team is building. Its about the draft .. overpriced guys whether they come via free agency or the waiver wire will not make this team much better. Save the cap space as we have guys now who can actually run a successful draft. Just say no to primadonnas. In these times of change I can only hope that this franchise will do just that & not go back to their ways of the past few years.
I'm off to Miami , next stop web weekend & as always I am grateful for the oppurtunity to attend!
