Free Agency kickoff on Tuesday, although the NFL has now introduced a new period in which NFL teams can contact Free Agents to let them know the are "INTERESTED". It began at 12:00 Saturday.
The Miami Dolphins look to be a major player in free agency this year and the Dolphins have showed major interest in Pittsburgh WR free agent Mike Wallace and are considered the favorites to land Wallce. Wallace would give Miami that much needed wide receiver that can take a top off a defense and Wallace is just entering his prime at 26 years old. Miami also has shown interest in Pittsburgh RB Rashard Mendenhall, Green Bay S Charles Woodson, KC ORT Eric Winston and Dallas CB Mike Jenkins just to name a few. Part I of turning this young Dolphins team into a playoff contender is to do a good job in free agency of agumenting the talent on the team. In this case, it is acquiring playmakers for an offensive team in dire need. The pressure on Jeff Ireland is immense, and there is no question in the fact that he has to hit on both free agency and the draft.
