Dolphins beat Broncos, 26-17 PDF Print E-mail

This was a huge road win in Denver for the Miami Dolphins. It was a game where the defense rose up to the challenge in the thin Denver air and held the Broncos running unit to only 14 yards on the ground. The Dolp;hins finally had success against a big receiver as they held 6'5" Brandon Marshall to only 2 catches for 27 yards.

Joey Porter had the Dolphins only sack and now has a total of 11.5 sacks.

The Dolphins kept the pressure on Broncos quarterback by usually only rushing 3 linemen, but they forced him into 3 interceptions: Jason Allen, Will Allen, and Brannon Conron. Will Allen returned his interception 32 yards for a touchdown.

The Dolphins offensive line did a decent job in pass defense, but could not block a team of grandmothers from the old folks home down the street when they needed to run the ball. Time after time Ronnie Brown was pummelled behind the line of scrimmage.

The Wild Cat was ineffective in the first half and was not even used in the 2nd half.

QB Chad Pennington's passes were high and had 3 drops from his receivers. Still, Pennington engineered the perfect drive in the 4th quarter as the Dolphins ate up over 8 minutes on their touchdown drive that left only 3 minutes on the clock.

Be sure to come by in the morning to read Rich's observations on the game. I am out of here! Before I go, ruminate on this: The Dolphins are now 4-4 and the Cowboys are 5-4. Go figure.

Go Dolphins!
