That whole Porter / Sapp exchange was so rehearsed. If you see that video clip , you'll find it is a waste of video. Do you want to know the state of the Dolphins?  Right now it's not good.  We know that, the media knows that, and anyone with any football knowledge knows that. Dont waste our time with a guy with an agenda to tell us.

Sapp made a permanent judgment on Ireland based off of the "hooker" comment. The man apologized for the idiotic and stupid comment in every way he could. While it was wrong, just let it go and don't make it a personal thing. Would you have fired him after one idiotic comment? I'm glad that you are not in charge.

So, let's see ... Yeremiah Bell is an aging veteran on the downswing of his career, and the Dolphins cut him due to his salary this year. I think anyone without their minds made up understand that Porter and Sapp are coming from an old player who doesn't have it any longer attitude. You have to push the old guys out at some point even when they are in denial. As far as Bell, I think he is still a very good player, but don't players usually know they have to renegotiate thing when they get into the last year of their contract? Bell thinks he is still one of the best at his position and felt he was being low-balled by Ireland.

As far as unpopularity, Joe Thomas took over the Baltimore Colts in the early 70s and traded away all the old greats on the team ... people he did not have any ties with. Fans hated him until he turned them into winners with Bert Jones and Lydell Mitchell.

It looks as if the Dolphins are rebuilding (in some respects). I do think they want to win as they replace players that aren't the future of this team. Normally you have the player all ready on the team via the draft to take over, so, we are doing things a little backwards here;) It looks like the rookies we draft will have to be starting.

We aren't overpaying for Free Agents, so, everyone wants Irelend fired. Funny, Reid signed a bunch of Free Agents last year and they wanted him fired, too. You just cannot win with anyone, can you? 

So, let the disgruntled fans pile up at Joe Robbie Stadium today (it will always be JRS to me). Let people waste their money on a plane flying overhead with a "fire Ireland" banner. Let people waste their money on a Peyton Manning sign ... and he only gave us a 6 hour interview to boot.

As far as I am concerned, Jeff Ireland gets a second year to rebuild this team on his own. No one knows how much input he had the first fews in our muddled Trifecta Period of "Take the Money and Run". Let him run this team into the playoffs or into the ground this year. Heck, the draft hasn't even started yet.
