Believe in Now. That's the catchphrase that is '08s 'theme' for our Miami Dolphins. It says that We as a team are going to compete. It says that we aren't going to go in the tank. It says that we are going to keep fighting and scratching and that we are doing it the right way, regardless of recent past endeavors. The truth is...it fits. We are better than recent years. We are younger, stronger, better than before; we are Steve Austin, the franchise barely alive, brought back as the Miami Dolphins most of us remember. JRR Tolkien's fantasy works couldn't be more surreal. WE have the AFC East's longest winning streak (2 games and counting- isn't it wonderful to have Miami Dolphins and Winning Streak applicable in the same sentence?). Ronnie Brown in a tie @ #1 in the NFL for TDs...and alone @ #1 if you add TD passes. Joey Porter @ #3 in the NFL with 5.5 Sacks. Dolphin Defense #7 in the NFL in Rushing @ 82.8 yards per game. We were #32 in '07. Dolphin Defense #7 in the NFL overall @ 288.8 yards per game. Chad Pennington #3 in the NFL among QBs with a 1st Down percentage on his passes of 38.4. You know who he's sandwiched between? Kurt Warner, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers and Tony Romo. Pretty good company for a Phin QB after the Feeley-Ferrotte-Culpepper-Green-Lemon mediocrity we've seen behind Center recently. As the NFL ranks teams by W-L records, we are currently 16th (right behind Indianapolis, and right in front of {thanks to our 2-1 AFC record} the NY Jests. We were #32 in '07. Believe in Now. Pinch yourself. Better yet, find your significant other and pinch them and see where it goes. It really is happening. To US. Watch out NFL. Weeee'rrrreeee Baaa-aaack. We're still a ways off from bringing Lombardi back to South Florida, but we are on the road to get there, and we've got a full tank of gas and a great map. See you there.
