After the thumping laid on Miami by the Patriots, we fans need some ointment...even after two weeks. The only thing that will effectively dampen the sting is a victory on the road against the Packers. In order to do that, Miami's not-so-special teams will need to achieve mediocrity. That should be doable but then again this is a unit that has given up 1-2 plays a game that have hurt the Dolphins. Additionally the R&R express needs to get back on track. They were all but ignored in the last two games. The Packers are average against the run because they run so many stunts on defense. It produces some big plays on defense, but it also gives up a lot. Miami has to take advantage of that matchup. On Defense, Miami just has to limit the Packers offense. They struggle to run the ball but they can throw with the best of them. As always, pressure on Rodgers will be a key ingredient to slowing them down. If I told you that Miami has statistically the best passing offense in the AFC East you might think I'm smoking something; however, statistically they're averaging more yards through the air than their AFC East counterparts. They're also only two slots behind Greenbay.

I always hate games where the other team is really beat up and injured going in. It is almost a no-win situation for the Dolphins. If they win, it will be because they were suppose to. If they lose, the bridge jumpers will be out in force. This next stretch of 6 games is brutal with no gimmes at all. Miami has to play good football to even stay at .500. If they can manage that, they'll have a shot at the end to find the playoffs. It would be nice to see Channing Crowder back in the middle. He's always had average guys playing next to him and having him paired with Dansby should produce a tough middle defense to run against. The other question is which Jason Allen will show up. The one we see slipping all over the field or the one who played like an all-pro against Minnesota. Miami needs Allen to play well this week.

Finally, the Packers are injured and coming off a tough road loss. They're not going to be a pushover because of a few injuries. Even the scrubs will play their hearts out at home. Miami will have its hands full and will need to bring their A game to win....and win they need to do. They won't get these kinds of breaks often where a team is not at full strength. They need to take advantage and take care of business. It starts with ST's and ends with a solid running game and protecting the football. These are things Miami must do to win. I don't know about you, but, Sunday can't come quick enough for me. There's still a bad smell still lingering from two weeks ago.
