The Dolphins will be fortunate to grab Earl Thomas or Dez Bryant here. Thomas is a rangy free safey with excellent cover skills. While at times overagressive he has recovery speed. His zone skills are top notch baiting QB’s before making his move. Not afraid to make the big hit and will do so often. Needs work on his tackling but works hard in practice and directs the secondary. He has been described along with Berry as the prototype of the new NFL safety in the Ed Reed mold.

Thomas might not make it past the Seahawks or Browns depending who is higher on their list. From a perceived skill perspective Dez Bryant is just a good a grab if he falls to the Phins. Bryant would be a spectacular pickup with his sure hands and route running ability he would open up a whole new dimension for the Dolphin offense.

Beyond Thomas and Bryant, CJ Spiller is the next best option. Spiller has a Reggie Bush type of skill set making him an asset in every facet of the offense. Dan Williams is an option at Nose Tackle but with the unusual amount of prospects available at Nose this year look for the Phins to grab one later. My money is on Jeff Owens a fourth or fifth round prospect from Georgia who put up 225 pounds 44 times at the combine and ran a sub 5 fourty.

Pass Rushers available here include Everson Griffin, Jason Pierre Paul, Brandon Graham, and Sergio Kindle. Everson Griffin is the biggest and the fastest of these prospects and has experience playing in a hybrid defense occasionally dropping into coverage.

43-Dolphins: Options abound at #43 for the Dolphins. Golden Tate is an excellent option at WR. While not a big target he has great hands and playmaking ability. He is a deep threat and can adjust to the ball very well. Added bonus is he can line up at Running Back making him an asset taking snaps in the wildcat. After the catch he runs like a Running Back.

If the Phins can’t grab Earl Thomas than an immediate option in the second round is Nate Allen. Aggressive in Run Support and always seems to be in the right spot he is a ball hawk. Morgan Burnett out of Georgia Tech is another solid option. Fourteen picks in his career.

Jimmy Graham is an intriguing prospect at TE. Only played one year for the “U” he is former basketball player. Outstanding athlete he is new to the game and needs to be developed but has great potential. Finally Timmy Tebow may or not be available here. Chances are he won’t. But if he is available it would be no big shock if the Phins were to grab him. Tebow is a leader and a winner with off the chart intangibles. He elevates his play during games. Runs hard and tough making him an asset in the Wildcat. True arm strength is undervalued and never properly exploited with his unorthodox delivery which is being improved.
