The Dolphins resigned NT Jason Ferguson for the upcoming 2010 season. When the Dolphins traded for Ferguson two years ago, I am sure they did not plan on him being the full-time starter for 3 years. While I praise what he has done for us these past two years, he is not the answer for this team for the 2010 season.
My wife's presence reminds me to always look for the good in things, so, that is what I will do with the Jason Ferguson signing. * The Dolphins will surely draft a NT/DT this year in the draft on the first day of the draft. Do not believe that ILB Karlos Dansby is the center pin for this defense. It is the NT/DT position. You HAVE to have a Pro Bowl quality nose tackle anchoring the defense in the middle of a 3-4 defense. * Since Ferguson will miss the first 8 games of the season, he should be fresh when he comes in to back up our rookie draft pick. Most rookies hit a "wall" in late November/early December as the NFL's schedule is very demanding. * The Dolphins will be depending on Paul Soliai, especially the first 8 games of the season. How many defensive linemen will Coach Sparano keep on his roster in Week 9? * The Dolphins had to have gotten a bargain price on Ferguson. He is only playing half the season. * Ferguson has been a good mentor for Paul Soliai. He should have the same leadership impact on the rookie we draft. * We are not going after Cleveland Browns DT Shaun Rogers. He was on the block for about a week, but his work ethic does not match up with his talent. Parcells does not like undisciplined players. Have a good day! I really can't get along without the browser toolbar. It has all the important links on it. I'm not selfish, I even have all the other Dolphins fan sites on it. There are a lot of draft links, rss feeds, and a cool email program that lets you know when you have mail. And NO spam or spyware. It works for Firefox and Internet Explorer. So, enjoy!
