The Good

The running game was productive against a very good defense. The Dolphins gained 162 yards on 32 carries for a 5.1 ypc. Wilson and Mostert were good 1-2 punch until Mostert went down.

The defense held the Jets to 38 yards rushing and 149 yards passing. A very good performance for a unit that has struggled to play consistently all year long.

The Bad

Skylar Thompson did nothing. Literally. Yes, he completed 64% of his passes and didn't throw any picks. But he played it so safe, which I am sure he was asked to do, that the Dolphins could have literally just run the ball all game and produced the same results. And the frustrating part is the receivers were getting open downfield. I know he's a rookie, but please take a couple of shots. Very frustrating performance.

The Ugly

The game overall was hard to watch. Baseball scores do not make for exciting football. But the Dolphins did what they needed to do and got the win.

Overall

The Dolphins are the 7th seed in the playoffs and will face the Bills, who they have played closely on the previous two games. But a lot will depend on whether the Dolphins can get healthy on offense at QB and LT. If Tua and Armstead play, the Dolphins have a shot. If they don't, the Bills will advance to the second round.
