It's been nearly the definition of a "bend but don't break" defense as takeaways and red zone defense have been stout. Still, it isn't good enough when we are nearly the worst team against the run and are allow teams to run all the way to the red zone with little resistance. If Gase does not address the DC position in the offseason it will be his undoing.

Miami has not had many sacks (29th) or third-down stops (25th). But the Dolphins have been quite good in the areas of takeaways (3rd) and red zone defense (16th).

The Dolphins defense has given up 72 explosive plays. Only Kansas City (77) and Tampa Bay (76) have more. That means on average of six times a game the opponent is gaining “chunk” yards.https://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/dav ... story.html
