Sorry guys, not a lot of time to write up a blog for this one. The New England Patriots come to Miami for a 1 PM game against the Dolphins. Miami is a 7.5 point underdog and the over/under is 47.

Lots of talk up here in Boston sports radio about Tom Brady's troubles in Miami previously, but not much fear this year. We aren't the only people noticing a complete lack of energy on offense and a defense that gives up a ton of yards. We saw in Week 4 how Bill Belichick completely neutralized Miami's offense and Brady and company eventually steam rolled the defense.

Brady isn't going to throw at Xavien Howard and give Miami a shot to get short fields. I also think Belichick is just going to run the ball to death like he did with Sony Michel in the previous game. Unless the pass rush miraculously comes alive I doubt we'll see New England have a lot of hiccups.

One thing that was pointed out to me was New England's linebackers really struggle in coverage so Miami might look to feature the running backs in the passing game. I'm sure Belichick tries to take that away and force Wounded Wing Ryan Tannehill to throw downfield. Belichick will also try to make sure the Miami running game is ineffective to force Tannehill into 3rd and longs.

Funny thing about Tannehill is that he used to thrive moving the ball between the 20s but not consistently find the end zone. Now he can punch it in when close but can't move the ball when starting on his side of the 50 yard line. If the defense can't produce a turnovers or Special Teams can't set the offense up with good field position I think you'll see another ho hum result.

The good thing is that Brady has not been himself this year and the defense forced a couple of interceptions in Week 4. So it isn't impossible for Miami to pull this off. I'm just not expecting it.

Miami 21

New England 31

Hopefully I'm wrong.

Xavien Howard with a knee injury and looking doubtful for the game. The only worse news would be Osweiler starting.

What would be cool if Tannehill led a fourth quarter comeback drive to win the game. You know it would drive the patsies nuts.

Thanks for your weekly write ups Jammer and what you contribute to the site.

21 to 31. That feels like a rock solid score to me.

Who knows. Miami might play it close. Though inevitably drop the ball.

Sad thing is I can definitely see them winning this game, drumming up hope and then losing to Minnesota and Buffalo.

Ted Larsen is such a problem on the line. Gesicki has become useless and now you have Barry Jackson writing that Brice Butler is the possible replacement for Devante Parker. What a mess.

I rewatched all of Tannehill's snaps from Sunday and I can honestly say he looked way more like his old self than in past games. Lots of fastballs over the middle to pick up decent yardage. But, I didn't see anything that would indicate a light bulb will go off and have him outgunning Belichick's defense.

If Wake, Quinn and Branch can generate a pass rush Miami will have a chance in this one.

Now that you mention it...that may be the most likely scenario of them all.

According to the reporters, Gase said it sounds like he won't be available but the players seemed optimistic he'll be on the field.

The good news is all of NE's losses have come on the road and we know the players get jacked up for this one. They play with confidence.

It comes down to the defense creating a pass rush and the offense needs to produce on its own, not rely on short fields from turnovers.

Easiest blueprint for NE is to probably take it easy and play mistake free football. They could probably end up winning like 17-13 because Miami's offense can't do squat right now.

Howard is officially out. So I'll repeat, unless Wake/Quinn/Branch/Harris make life miserable for Brady it will be a rough go for Miami. Heck, at the DT's in that bunch. If they can at least get pressure up the middle it could make a difference.

Maybe Drake explodes for over 100 yards and Tannehill starts throwing intermediate range darts to move the chains. One can hope I guess.

The national media is up-playing the Patriots struggles in Miami ... even going as far as talking about our success in the Wild Cat once upon a time. I don't think the game is going to be close and could be a Patriots blowout. Belicheat knows how to exploit an opponent's weaknesses, and we have many. The only positives that I do see is that Gase's teams are good at focusing one game at a time, and they usually give the effort needed at home to be competitive in each game. Despite the multiple devatating injuries, this team is better than last year's team.

Patsies: 38
Dolphins: 24

Yeah I don't like this at all. Every time the media talks Miami up it becomes a huge let down.

I know we can all agree the Wildcat game has as much to do with Miami winning this game as Stormy Daniels has to do with Russia.

Well right now it is overcast and rainy here. But no worries. We will be the better team on the field today.
This is still south Florida in December for the Patriots.
Plus Amendola is playing. Look for a huge game from him.

There's no real reason the Phins are 4 out of 5 against the Pats at home. The one loss came when the Phins had their best Team........the other Teams were consistent or worse than this year's. The Pats are average on the road, the Phins find a way to win at home.

Phins give us a last hoorah for the season......

Phins 24
Pats 17

When are the Dolphins going to fix this trash offensive line? It has been about a decade with these clowns not blocking. Also, our long snapper might need to retire.

Well, the Pats got conservative and we got really lucky. I love it. No home field for the Pats and that usually means no SupevBowl for them.

The Phins lost it when Stills gave up on a sure first down and set up the Pats for taking the lead. Fours kept stroking, licking, kissing and squeezing the Pats till the very end ... that fluke TD was so awesome.

Stills did a lot of good in the game but what was up with that play? And then Gase dials up a play action on 3rd and 1 where the rusher was on Tannehill before he even turned around.

Hats off to a lot of guys on the team.

Gore was awesome. Tannehill was very good. Stills had big numbers. Brandon Bleepin' Bolden! Brice Butler with a huge TD catch. Even the defense tightened up in the 2nd half allowing only 2 field goals.

Not sure this team is healthy enough or talented enough to win a playoff game but I'm going to enjoy this week and watch the highlights at least a couple times per day.

Oh, and if you have not already please check out the Barstool Sports video of the grandpa and grandma reacting to the Pats losing. The grandfather's swearing is beyond funny but the grandmother asking "did, did they win?" had me in tears laughing.

You've got to spoon feed us a link for that. I'm not sure where to even find it.

I'm laughing so hard at work. Yeah the grandfather is the focal point but the grandmother's expressions and asking if they won is just the cherry on top. You couldn't have scripted a funnier scene.

I've watched the Miami Miaracle so many times now, and while I love the laterals and running and Gronk looking like a newborn giraffe, my favorite of all of it is #62 delivering a crucial block to open that up. As a lineman in all of my football playing days, that makes me so happy to see. Good hustle big man!
