Ex-Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron fired by Ravens
Quote: Sunday's game in Washington was typical of Cameron's run as offensive coordinator. There were flashes of brilliance, with three touchdowns in the team's first four possessions. But then the offense bogged down; nine of their 13 drives lasted four plays or less. The lack of use of Ray Rice was a constant concern, and there were reports of frustration with the team's no huddle approach during the season. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000 ... to-step-in.

His only accomplishment is to coach LT and Antonio Gates.

Not that he's that good to begin with, but I think his numbers start to slip next season. I thought Cameron did a good job catering his offense towards Flacco's strengths.

Always was a successful OC. I am thinking he might be a scapegoat for a team that is under performing. I would take him over Sherman.

A little more info on our ex-coach ... whom just about every one of us applauded at the decision to fire him after one season as our head coach. PFT wrote: Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reported that the firing came after “an accumulation of personal issues” between the coordinator and quarterback Joe Flacco and Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun reports that owner Steve Bisciotti and Harbaugh were both unhappy with play calling on Sunday. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... est-thing/Jason Cole wrote: In short, Cameron is a control freak. He has been for years. Ask people who were in Miami when he served as Dolphins head coach for just one season (2007) and you'll hear stories about how it was actually easier for people in the building to deal with Nick Saban than Cameron. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--keepi ... 38938.html

He instituted strict rules about little things with the Dolphins such as not keeping an iPod in a locker or having everyone ride the team bus to the airport for away games. These guys are professionals. They don't need to be treated like pre schoolers. I also heard a wild one that Harbaugh almost went after Cameron on the sidelines during the AFC Championship game in New England.

If it was your job and you were going to keep doing it, you'd be a control freak as well. If there was a weakness in Cameron's offenses it is how they played in tough games against good defenses. That can almost be said about any OC in the league. Outside of that, his team's offenses usually steamrolled the competition.
