That's what I always hated about the arguments against Marino. There definitely is an element of "elevating" the players around you ..... but at the same time it's hard to be a one-dimensional team back in those days and attempt to win the big one. There was a time when Marino had a decent defense, but he was already a lot older at that point, with still no running game to be found. _________________

Something along the lines of Montana being a system quarterback, but Marino was "the system" |
