A stat that Fins fans will hate
Brandon Marshall had 9 TD receptions in two years with the Dolphins. He already has 7 TD receptions in eight games with the Bears. Still think it was a good idea for Fireland to trade him away?

Here is the thing & I agree he is having a great season & the team itself (the Bears) are loaded & are eons ahead of us ... right now, & yes that Marshall watch thread has suddenly been buried. Simply put though he clearly did not want to be here & handled himself pretty immaturely. While the trade did not sit well with alot of us , it was a necessary thing to do.

Got to agree with you there. He was a headcase in Miami and dropped way too many passes. It was a poor but necessary trade to get him out of Miami. It has worked out well for the Bears, which is what really bothers us most.

They knew what they were getting, so not buy he was a headcase caused the trade.

I believe in the end it was probably best Philbin start without him, BUT, Philbin and company I bet would have used him ALOT in this offense and I can only imagine with his production how much more that would have helped Tannehill. Although some detractors will say that Brandon would have been too high maint for Tanny, I tend to believe we gave up on a still very young dominating wide receiver and wished in some ways we gave it a chance with the Philbin era.

I would still have him here if I were the coach/gm, but Brandon Marshall is playing well in Chicago because he wants to. We gave him every chance to have these same numbers in Miami and he didn't. Let's see what his stats look like once he gets another wild hair. In the meantime, I am enjoying the chemistry this team has. The way Hartline and Bess are playing without him, something is telling there.

He is not a team player, doesn't take criticism well, never takes responsibility, only cares about himself, is struggling with a disorder, has been through multiple run-ins with the law, and we are seriously still making threads about this guy? Seriously let it go! We have a good team and are doing fine without him.

The question, then, is: is Ryan Tannehill a good QB? There is no answer to that question that does not reflect poorly on either a) Ireland's ability to evaluate Marshall as a player, b) Ireland's ability to evaluate Tannehill as a player, or c) Ireland's plan for the previous offseason.

Re: A stat that Fins fans will hate
With Marshall it was all about want-to. When he wanted to, he was unstoppable. When he didn't, he was mediocre. He dropped 6 TD passes in the first 7 games last year. Right in his hands. Had nothing to do with a good or bad QB. It was a good divorce and good for both teams.

He didn't want to play in Miami, plan and simple it was written all over his face and his stats. Yes, I'm glad he's gone and gone forever.

If he had 9 TD's in 8 games here he never would have been traded...

Re: A stat that Fins fans will hate
It was a great move. Marshall was a headcase that was collecting $10M a season to help us go 7-9. He's the type of receiver that could give a young quarterback like Tannehill problems. He's better off gone. We got two 3rd round picks and as far as I'm concerned, both teams came out winners. The Bears got Jay Cutler's favorite receiver and we got multiple draft picks.
Even if Marshall were in Miami he wouldn't have those same numbers because Cutler throws the ball to him 20+ times a game to get those numbers. He locks onto Marshall all game long whether he's open or not. Marshall wouldn't get that same treatment from Tannehill, and it would likely lead to him acting up.
Face the facts, Marshall is better off in Chicago, and we're better off without him.

They won't be able to perform to the standard of one team, but switch their jersey and it's a whole new day. As frustrating as it is sometimes, that's the beauty of sports. It highlights the importance of teamwork and how players "gel" together.

Well the problem there being is that we drafted Tannehill well after we traded away Marshall.
