He stunk it up today and has played very pedestrian football all year. Not worth a big contract at all.

Many a LT have had bad days against Freeney. However, when the game was on the line & he needed to shut him down. He failed.

He's had a string of injuries. I don't think he is what he used to be.

I would have tried to trade him to see if I could have moved up to draft Luck. Yes, if Indy would have traded the No. 1 pick for the No. 8 pick & Long, then I'd made that trade & probably anything else they would have wanted.

Indy sucks hard to get the right to draft Luck. They would never have made a trade.

Probably not, but never know. Having Manning they could have made a SB run with that trade & still drafted a Qb to replace Manning.

Why not? Long sure as hell is playing like a rookie. Long has not been the same since he started getting hurt.

Because there's no replacement on the right side. You'd essentially be substituting sub-standard play for another set of sub-standard play.

Long's lost his speed and can't get down to block these smaller faster OLB's. He's also making mental msitakes, which tells me he is not a good fit for this Offensive Scheme. At this point in his career, he's probably better suited at Guard.

Man . . Can we let the Matt Ryan drama go? We didn't have the coaches to develop him or the team around him. & he likely never would've been the player he is today if he was brought into our organization. Further more, Ryan is just now looking like he can carry the team & HE. IS. LOADED! with Julio, Roddy, Turner, Gonzalez, & a solid defense. Jake Long is just lately looking like a possibly bad fit, after all those other bad coaches & schemes. I admit he wasn't special last year but he was a good pick at the time.

I think you're right, we'll have to get a new LT next year & let Long walk if he's expensive but idk about first pick.

The difference. Miami continues the thought process of past admins. Go cheap on play makers. Atl went all in with Julio Jones. Miami trades their young top Wr for a couple of 3rds. All he did today was 9 catches, 120+ Yds & 3 Tds.

Marshall didn't want to play for Miami and the uncertainty we had at the QB position. His comments after the Pro Bowl told you that.

For me I would wait until the end of the year to see who to keep and who to let go. I am sometimes to easily swayed by my emotion to make that kind of judgement the day of a tough loss.

I'd try to sign a solid vet to play tackle, Bush we dont really need going forward. Thomas has outplayed him and Miller looks excellent when they actually let him on the field. Smith is what he is, a sissy. We need an influx of corners anyway. I'd draft 3 this year.

We likely will want to move on from Long if he keeps playing like this. Hopefully he'll step up and improve his game, but if not we should be ready for the harsh reality that it might be best to let him go elsewhere and claim our compensatory pick. I'm not too sure what kind of compensatory pick we'd get but I'm sure it would be a nice one, probably a 3rd or 4th. Not to mention the $10M we'd save would allow Ireland some flexibility in free agency.

If I'm not mistaken I think the LT and RT from Texas A&M are coming out in next years draft. Hopefully Sherman has the inside track on a solid offensive tackle that can handle his scheme. If the draft were today, I'd go:

1st - OT
2nd - WR
2nd - DB
3rd - DB
3rd - OG
4th - DB
5th - DE
6th - OT
6th - OG
7th - DT

Keep in mind the Bears were winning at one point 31-2 with 35 total passing yards so please dont inflate Marshall's garbage time stats anymore than they need to be..
