Peter King's Defensive Players of the Week- CB Jimmy Wilson
Peter King wrote: Jimmy Wilson, CB, Miami. The seventh-round pick from Montana in 2011 had one of the best all-around days any player had Sunday, recording a sack of Mark Sanchez, two tackles, a pass deflection and a blocked punt when he and a fellow punt rusher ran a twist on the Jets' line, fooled long-snapper Tanner Purdue and rushed in and smothered the punt, which Olivier Vernon recovered in the end zone to give the Dolphins a 10-0 lead they'd never relinquish. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/w ... k-8/1.html

Re: Peter King's Defensive Players of the Week- CB Jimmy Wilson
Sorry, Timmy. You got schooled. Quote: Wilson: Dolphins took advantage of Tebow
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The New York Jets have mostly taken advantage of quarterback Tim Tebow's versatility on special teams this year. Tebow successfully converted on several fake punts running and passing the football this season.
However, having Tebow as the punt protector Sunday backfired as the Miami Dolphins took advantage of his inexperience. The Dolphins brought the house in the first quarter and Tebow had to choose to block one of two defenders.
Tebow made the wrong choice and allowed the quicker, faster Dolphins cornerback Jimmy Wilson run free. The result was a blocked punt that was recovered for a touchdown by defensive end Olivier Vernon. That gave the Dolphins an early 10-0 lead they never relinquished.
“We wanted to take advantage of Tebow when they were in the regular punt set,” Wilson said. “When [special teams] coach [Darren] Rizzi called the punt block I knew that was my opportunity.”
This is the first year Tebow has played on special teams in the NFL. The Dolphins spent a lot of time during their bye week practicing their ability to rush the punter. It was an early turning point in the game that proved to be costly for the Jets. Miami won the game, 30-9, to improve to 4-3. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/ ... e-of-tebow

Re: Peter King's Defensive Players of the Week- CB Jimmy Wilson
It's nice when you hit on a 7th round draft pick. Ireland hit on Jimmy from the 2011 Draft and Kheeston Randle, the DT from Texas in this year's draft in the 7th round.
Don't get me wrong, Ireland has made his fair share of mistakes, but what GM has not. But he has hit on some nice picks in the draft the last few years and those players are now producing for Miami.

Clyde Gates
What about him? He sucks, we won't hit every pick. Name me a GM that does? IF you think "Gates" had a breakout "game", you are sadly mistaken. Most of his yards were garbage time yards before the first half was over and in the latter part of the 3rd and all of the 4th. We letting them catch everything in front and eat the clock. Come on Junkie...stop, please.

Actually, what he means to say is lots of draft picks will equal lots of players, few draft picks will equal very few or no players. Vets are old and cost $. Lots of draft picks also make it easier to move up in the 1st rd for a super-stud WR
