Interesting indeed. Maybe Miami will get lucky with this kid and he can be our Antonio Gates/Jimmy Graham. Still ticked because Miami liked Graham and did not take him when they had a chance to thinking he would go a round later. Sean Peyton burned his old boss Parcells on that one.

Graham is an absolute beast, if this kid can put up half the numbers that Graham does then we've found ourselves a steal.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODFCKVjkx4kcheck out this footage of this kid. I love this move. Love converted Basketball pl;ayers. I wanted Jimmy Graham so bad and Parcells wouldnt pull the trigger. This is the kind of move I've always wanted my Fins to make. We seem to have better luck finding guys on the street anyway as opposed to the draft. Very Nice Miami!!!!

I wonder if this guy is legit. Could mean we won't have to take Ledarius Green...even though I feel he is the real deal.

I like the out-of-the-box thinking and risk taking.
You never move ahead of everyone else by making the same exact moves they do.

Just because he's a great athlete doesn't mean he can play football.
these types of guys rarely make the roster.

If they truly like this kid and they plan on using Charles Clay as a tightend more then I don't think we'll take a tightend in the draft this year. I really like the idea of us taking Fleener in the 2nd or Green in the 3rd, but between Fasano, Brown, and Clay we might not need another guy.

Jimmy Graham and Antonio Gates didnt have much experience playing football either. I read we probably wont address tight end anymore through this draft. They like him so much they gave him a 3 year deal. teams were high on this guy and we got him. More proof debunking the rumors that no one wants to play for Miami.

Iowa, I am starting to believe the the Dolphins will not take a TE in this draft. Charles Clay will move to TE, and I think he can be an impact player there. There is a TE the Dolphins are looking at from North Carolina Central that I think they will target in UDFA. I don't have a problem at all with the Dolphins taking a flyer on a talented big kid with speed.

http://phinphanatic.com/2012/04/16/miam ... les-brown/Brown would have been the top performer at his position at the combine this year.

Brown would have been the top performer at his position at the combine this year. I think he's going to be the feel-good story of the offseason. I am all ready pulling for the guy to make the team. He hasn't played football since high school, but he must have really impressed the Dolphins to get a 3 year contract and not want to lose him to Green Bay who he had a meeting him lined up after Miami.

He had meetings lined up with a lot of teams according to this article.
Listen, no one knew much about Cameron Wake either when he came on board, and look how that turned out.
I'll remain optimistic for sure.. he at least looks like the real deal.
We'll see in a few months.

Have any of you seen any projections as to where Brown would have gone in the draft (which round)? The phinphanatic article guessed 5th round, but I haven't seen anybody else speculate. With his measurables, I wouldn't be surprised if he had gone sooner than that, even with his lack of experience.

Another guy on the roster is Will Yeatman. 6'5" 265 from Maryland, former Lacrosse player (attacker). There will certainly be some interesting battles for this spot come training camp.

Re: Phins sign former B-Ball player at TE who ran 4.44
the tight end position has become dominated by basketball athletes. Football was not gates or Graham's strongpoint. So I see no reason this guy cannot become an excellent player in the NFL

Low risk, high reward potential. You have to like this kind of move.

Haha we are really just hiring anybody off the street. Maybe we should give Jared a call, the Subway diet really got him in great shape and we need a WR Young Les underwent a major body transformation in 10 weeks (from 215 lbs, 15% body fat to 240 lbs, 8% body fat). Not to mention, he now has incredible strength and speed. Hmmm.................I wonder how something like that occurs? Anyway, if he can continue to pass the tests he definitely has potential at TE or WR.

It's not that major of a body transformation... ever seen p90x?
I doubt he used that, but it's a perfect example of how quickly someone can transform just by using muscle memory.

C'mon Man, there's muscle, fat and water (bone, skin & major organs generally don't change). Assuming his water is consistent, the math is as follows......... Despite losing 7% [15% (original) - 8% (now)] body fat............there was an 25 lb [240 lbs (now) -215 lbs (original)] increase in weight (muscle). The 7% body fat was replaced by muscle so..........7% of of his original 215 lbs = 15lbs. Total........... 40 lbs of muscle gain in 10 weeks...............Even P90X wouldn't make that claim. With tremendous hard work, an individual needs the best science has to offer to accomplish that. Whoever did that tape, should not have put out that info. Nobody cares where he was..........just where he is now.

Whether muscle weighs more than fat doesn't make any difference.........one's replacing the other to provide a final weight. Thus, fat was replaced by muscle which is reflected in Les' final weight and reduction in body fat. Is there a different way you would calculate?

To your point Phins Rock.........we're going off of information provided by an unchecked video (source).............so who knows the accuracy of what they are stating. But even a 20 lb gain in muscle in 10 weeks would be extreme. Anyway, seems like a lot of teams were looking at Les + we gave him a 3 yr contract with a small signing bonus.......................hope he's another Cam.
