Tackle stats show Bell was ultimate safety
Quote: For a series of stories Monson is producing about the best and worst tacklers, Bell graded out as the NFL's top tackling safety and near the top among all defenders.
ProFootballFocus.com broke down every play on film and counted the missed tackles and solo tackles. He used those figures to determine a "tackle inefficiency rating." The formula divides missed tackles by attempted solo tackles to come up with an evaluation.
Bell was the NFL's most effective safety tackler. He was blamed for one missed tackle and made 90 solos, giving him a miniscule 1.10 TIR. No defensive player, regardless of position, had more than 60 tackles with one or no misses. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/11422/tackle-stats-show-bell-was-ultimate-safetyPair him up with a solid FS with Dansby in front and our pass defense can be pretty darn good, especially if our young corners can turn the corner this year.

Like I've been saying, if you team YB up with a pure FS, and allow him to play the true SS position, he is one of the very best in the NFL.
He only missed one tackle this season, and it was on Tony Gonzalez in Week 1.

I won't disagree with you there PR. I think a great deal of YB. His effort is phenomenal. His conditioning. His intelligence and his physical skills. He was 1 physical developmental project player that actually got it.. and he worked HARD for it.

Bell is a beast and continues to get better. I think he is one of the better SS in this league.

Well you also said Bell and Wilson were the best tandem in the NFL.
