 Boldin Trade close
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 5, 2010 3:59 PM ET The Arizona Cardinals have multiple trade offers for wide receiver Anquan Boldin and are close to determining which one they'll accept.
PFT has heard that the Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots are all interested in acquiring Boldin from the Cardinals.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Cardinals have spent much of Friday weighing their offers and determining which one to take. Schefter says that right now, the Ravens are the leading contenders.
Although it was reported this week that the Cardinals wanted a third-round draft pick for Boldin, it's possible that the presence of multiple bidders for his services has upped the price.
The 29-year-old Boldin had 84 catches for 1,024 yards and four touchdowns in 2009.

 Re: WR News
NOT cool................... Just read this on nationalfootballpost.com: Quote: The New England Patriots have emerged as the frontrunner to land Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Anquan Boldin via a trade, according to league sources. http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Source-Patriots-are-the-frontrunners-for-Boldin.htmlSeeing as how Belichick has 3 2nd round picks to play with, he can easily outbid other teams if he wishes to.

 Re: WR News
New England could probably land both Greg Olsen and Anquan Boldin for 2nd round picks and still have one leftover for the draft. I still see Baltimore pushing hard for Boldin.

 Re: WR News
According to the Seattle Times, the Seahawks would send the No. 6 overall pick in the draft to Denver if they signed Brandon Marshall to a restricted free agent offer sheet. The sides could always work out something different, but the direct offer-sheet compensation would be the 6th pick because Seattle acquired its other first-rounder (No. 14) via trade. It's unclear if the Broncos want to draft that high. The price of rookie contracts in the top-eight is exorbitant. Source: Seattle Times well there goes Dez Bryant!

Let's just sign Ernest Wilford again and be done with it.

 Re: WR News
They still have the #11pick though to take Bryant if they used Seattle's 6 to take a qb. This sucks, the Pats will likely land Boldin to go along side Moss and Welker (DEAR GOD IN HEAVEN PLEASE NO !!!!), and the Broncos will likely take the only stud receiver in the draft (Bryant), and we get NO HELP at the wr position worth mentioning. Our best hope now is drafting a receiver in the 2nd round and hoping he can develop faster than the normal 3 years it takes at that position. The rest of the AFC East is improving at an alarming rate while we seemingly crawl along at a slug's pace. Of course I'm painting a doomsday outlook, but someone tell me where I'm wrong....

 Re: WR News
Just read that NE pulled out of the Boldin deal and that its between Baltimore and KC.
If Marshall goes I think the logical move would be to take Bryant if available. Then again Denver could package their picks to move up for Claussen or Bradford.
I'm really getting the feeling that Miami will sign Antonio Bryant by the end of the weekend.

 Re: WR News
The Patriots are reportedly pulling out of the Anquan Boldin trade talks.
We have a feeling the Patriots were only floated as a possibility to extract a higher return out of Baltimore. It's now believed to be a two-horse race between the Ravens and Chiefs. Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter
god i hate this team so much...hell im a red sox fan i hate them more than the yankees & jets combined!

 Re: WR News
IF Denver draws Seattle's 6 pick for Marshall, that means they can take Clausen or Bradford AND take Dez Bryant before us. Outside of Bryant, Boldin and Marshall, name me anyone who would be a significant upgrade to this team?

 Re: WR News
Why would they essentially trade Brandon Marshall for a rookie in Dez Bryant??

 Re: WR News
They trade him because he is unhappy. They also get a 1st round pick for him. That is a big deal to get two 1st round picks. They plug in Dez Bryant at WR and still can get a QB, LB....whatever their heart desires. That is a great move for Denver. They also seem to know how to evaluate top WR talent....unlike Miami. They hit big with both Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall.

 Re: WR News
Man.. What does NE need with another aging WR? Moss, Boldin and Welker.... NO THANK you! Hopefully they stay pulled out of the race. Even if for 1 year.. That would suck to play that WR core twice.
