And Obama once said he's been to 57 states during his campaign. If my grammar school geography was correct then I'm quite certain there are only 50 states so its a dig at a gaffe he made.

Name a state in the US that is part of another continent? Its not a series of islands off the coast of Asia and has never been considered part of that continent. Obama had 5 choices: he could have said the city, island, state, US or Pacific. He opted for something wrong. I never said it was close to or part of North America, so I hate to break it to you but nothing I said was wrong.

Ok I will repeat the question. Is one of the 50 states a part of another continent? Hawaii is not in North America but part of the US. Its what we call an exception. It is not part of or near Asia. Believe it or not the US and North America are two separate things. But keep trying, I enjoy these little chats.

Maybe I missed it, but I watched 3 times and I never heard him say "Hawaii is in Asia". I only heard him reference "Asia".

I am 100% sure Obama knows Hawaii is part of the USA, seeing that he was born and went to school in Hawaii, his sister and her husband live in Hawaii, and his grandmother was living in Hawaii until she passed away a few years ago.

The point isn't whether Hawaii is part of the US, the larger point is it is not a part of Asia geographically. If I went to Aruba and said "whether you're in Europe or here in South America" I'd be just as wrong, and that island is at least near the continent. Hawaii is in the middle of the bleeping ocean.

Hawaii is part of Polynesia. Polynesia is part of the region Oceania. It is not Asia, however, Polynesian ancestry is believed to be traced back to the Austronesian people, who were from the Malay Archiapeligo in Asia (Taiwan area). This is why people from Polynesia (such as Hawaiians) share many physical and linguistic traits as people in Asia.

So when he says when he meets with world leaders "here in Asia" you don't think he is referring to where he is at but to another "here" which is somehow connected to Asia?

He has to say specifically that Hawaii is in Asia. Those are the rules.
