 Antonio Cromartie
Just wondering what you guys think of Antonio Cromartie? There have been numerous reports over the last few days, including on ProFootballTalk, that if the Chargers can't find a trading partner for Cromartie, they may just let him walk.
While I'm not a fan of his tackling the last couple of years, he has the ability to be a pretty solid playmaker. With Will Allen coming off an injury, entering the last year of his contract and his off-field issues, would Cromartie be someone you would look at as someone to come in and compete with Davis and Smith?
I think we have a solid group of corners, but I subscribe to the belief that you can never have enough serviceable corners -- especially in this pass-happy era in the NFL.

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
he's young, and he is a playmaker. I'd love to see him in a dolphin uniform if we hadn't already addressed that position. I believe we have two young corners that are going to turn out to be dang good, although it seemed Smith seemed more and more uncomfortable out there as the season went on.
That said, Cromartie is a big reason the Chargers see success against the Colts.

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
I think he's too expensive for us, we have too many other needs to go out and drop money on a CB when we drafted 2 last year.

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
Antonio Cromartie has got too much baggage to deal with right now. As an FSU fan, I am familar with Antonio and he is a super talent.
But he also has 5-6 kids by different mothers and he has major financial problems and it has effected his play. He is going to want a new contract with big money for sure, plus he has went in to Deion Sanders mode and does not want to tackle now.
If he was Primetime, that woud be one thing, but he is not. He needs to be a complete player and be an aggressive tackler.
As has been pointed out already, Sean Smith needs to improve as a tackler, no need to add another DB that does not want to tackle.

Cromarties first NFL start he intercepted Peyton Manning 3 times, only player to ever accomplish that. Then in the playoffs he intercepted him again and forced a M Harrison fumble to knock off the Colts. By my count that is 2.

I wouldn't say those two turnovers were big reasons...but then I'm just arguing to be arguing.

Although the score could have been 24-7 at halftime instead of 10-7. But your right, turnovers are not big factors in games.

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
So far he is a one trick pony & is living off that. He tackles like Deion, but cannot cover like him.

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
Why would we trade for a CB when we've got 3 starting caliber ones, with 2 being rookies??

 Re: Antonio Cromartie
What about signing him, keeping smith on the other side while splitting time with Allen, and then move Davis to safety since he CAN tackle? lol, I know, pretty far fetched, but while we are speculating up the wazoo.....
