What is this horrible history ? we got in trouble in 95 for the Pell Grant scandal..that's been it!!! Sorry theat was 17 years since any violations....

Death penalty is "banned/forbidden from competing" for a set period of time. Happened to SMU in the 80s. It is pretty much unrecoverable. Think SMU ate it for a year or 2 then couldn't go to a bowl (as if they could anyway) for a couple years. Every football talent in the U will flee to other schools and the entire program will have to be rebuilt ground up...

Thanks Ski, thats what I thought. Thats pretty harsh. Unfair to the kids that are there now if this happens. From what Ive heard, if the U cooperates with the investigation, they probably wont get the death penalty.

They may just as an example. The U is one of those upper echelon football factories and to shut it down for a year... man. That would shake up everything. A lot of the current roster has been labeled. If they don't get death, they will still face a very large number of player suspensions etc.

Ok, so obvious SKI just hates the U !!! First you lie and say that the U has a horrible history...we have been in trouble once in the footballs history !!! Then you say football factory, not wanting to say that the U's football program is top 10 in graduation rates for all DI schools and is a hell of a lot tougher to get into then all SEC schools..( Vandy might be close). Then Ski says alot of the current team has been labeled..Ok, 12 out of close to 100 kids is not alot, as it's not like we couldn't field a team without them.....MAYBE WHAT FOR AN INVESTIGATION TO BE COMPLETE BEFORE YOU DOG OUR PROGRAM... ...tHE WORD OF A CONVICTED FRAUD, along with pics of him with players is not proof...please show checks with players names on them, recorded phone calls etc... that proved what he said occurred..

First off, I doubt the death penalty is on the table...in SMU's case you had a documented meeting of the university president, athletic director, head coach and the gov of the state, in which they all agreed to continue to make the player payments. Nothing in this mess has implicated Shannon, Holcutt or Shalla..so i doubt we will get that. And to Ski, the fact you would consider switching to UF, well that speaks to your commitment to the Canes..

I think also included in the death penalty is loss of TV coverage & the money that goes along with it.
I dont know whats gonna happen here but of all the players & ex players denouncing it , nobody has denied it. I think the penalty is gonna be harsh.

Oh & Paul Dee , going after USC as hard as he did & telling another school they should have the same watchful eye as Miami did while he was there. Big fat hypocrite , who should be fired as well.

This is not a surprise all schools operate like this. Its the schools fault they gave him access to everything including players. But I know for a fact Florida in deep...only a matter of time..No Death Penalty just because Miami reported his 1st claim a year ago

OK, suspensions are out we got 1 6 game 2 4 games and 5 1 game . Showing this has been way over hyped, really only Vernon, Dye and Armstrong got much.Doubt the sanctions will be that hard either as by all accounts this never went to the level of Head Coach as Shannon barred this scumbag from the team and their have been zero allegations stating it went up that high. In OSU's case Tressel knew and lied to the NCAA...we have been very honest and forthcoming to the NCAA so I don't think it will be that bad!!

I think they make an example of some people though.

There is gonna be more to come. This is far from over. The NCAA would like nothing more than to make an example of Miami & they will do so. You can expect loss of scholarships , no bowl games & loss of TV revenue , perhaps more. Like I said Of all the players & ex players to condemn what has happened , none of them has denied it.
