This guy has been a LB's coach for Pittsburgh for 7 years....Sweeeeeet.

Pittsburgh has had some of the best LB's in the game this decade, and most of them were drafted and developed. I think this would be a great hire as not only he clearly knows what he is doing with these guys, but he has worked under Dick Lebeau so you know he knows how to blitz and be aggressive.

This would be a tremendous hire, IMO.

I like it, but not just from a linebacker standpoint. He's been apart of one of the best defenses in the league for awhile now, and we need someone who knows how to create a good defense, assuming that he's picked things up from his time at Pitt.

This is the guy that I want. He can coach both the 3-4 and 4-3 defense. I've always liked it that Belichick can go from one scheme to the next in a single game.

Butler, 53, has long been considered the heir apparent to Steelers DC Dick LeBeau, but LeBeau isn't retiring yet. Butler was also under heavy consideration for the Cardinals' defensive coordinator position last offseason. He played in the league as a linebacker for the Seahawks from 1978 to 1987.

ESPN's Heather Dinich reporting Al Groh will be defensive coordinator at Georgia Tech; also, Dolphins not expected to hire Keith Butler.

hm .. now why would a guy that has interest from NFL teams as a DC take the same title at the college level? Maybe the media made too much of a story based on friendships and not enough on talent?

So where does this leave us .. Todd Bowles?

Dean Pees in Bowles...ok, bad joke. Anyway, hope Hen is correct and their are some better options available.
