Post Rodgers vs. Devine vs. Hunter vs. Vereen
Whether Miami goes for a guy like Ingram or not, I think they need to go out and get a playmaker on 3rd down. Somebody out of the backfield who can be to them what Faulk was in NE for years, or Sproles in SD. A homerun hitter.

I love Shane Vereen. He's not unbelievably fast or elusive, but he's a good in-between the tackles runner, can get to the edge, great vision and catches the ball out of the backfield well.

Ever time I watch Kendall Hunter play I am more and more impressed. I thought he was just a 3rd down scat-back, but I think he can be a legit starter in the NFL. Guy has crazy good elusiveness and speed, with good enough power to compliment it.

Devine and Rodgers are more of the specialists.

Thoughts on these 4 guys, or any other RB's that fit this mold?

Noel Devine has been a 3 down back for West Virginia, but his size will not allow that in the NFL. He is good out of the backfield and is a homerun threat because of his great speed.

Kendall Hunter is a very good RB out of Oklahoma State. A kid that has some injury issues that I like is DeMarco Murray, the RB out of Oklahoma. 3 down back with homerun speed and good out of the backfield.

I don't know if the Dolphins will bring Ronnie back, as a lot depends on what Ronnie wants contract wise and if it matches his production. But if they do bring him back, a back like Devine or Murray would be a nice speed back to add.

Same was said about Darren Sproles, Danny Woodhead, MJD, Steve Smith, Wes Welker, etc.

Indeed.

That said I would go with Quizz. He's tougher and better out of the backfield. Also runs more out of the I-formation than Devine.

Since I am an FSU fan, the best little back I have seen in a while and he was very productive, every down back in the NFL as well was Warrick Dunn. Smaller backs that are less than 200 lbs are few are far between, but if Devine can be that type of back, hallelujah.

PJ, are you talking about Jaquez Rodgers, the TB from Oregon State?

Yeah. Guy runs tough inbetween the tackles, great catching it out of the backfield, and I feel has just as much speed and elusiveness as Devine.

I agree with everything with the exception of speed. Rodgers is not as fast as Devine, not close. That being said, I do love Quiz, as he is a very complete back.

I'm not so sure that Devine really has a ton of straight line speed.

Darren Sproles is not THAT fast straight line. But he is extremely quick and has great burst; I think Devine is the same type of guy. Not that fast in the open field, but great burst and elusiveness.

Quizz is the same way. Not saying that either aren't fast, but just that they are more quick than they are DeSean Jackson fast. I think Devine will run somewhere in the 4.45-4.47 range.

Either way, I'd take either of them in the 3rd.

Divine is reported to have 4.3 speed.

Yeah, I was gonna throw Dunn in there too...but last time I called Dunn small everyone ripped me because apparently he's bulky so it doesn't count.

Sound like some folks don't know what they are talking about in regards to Dunn. I'm pretty sure Warrick was never over 190 lbs while playing.

Phins, Noel Devine is a legit 4.3-low 4.4 guy. He has a great combination of quickness and pure speed.

Maybe I am getting caught up in this year where he was dealing with an injury, but he didnt have true breakaway speed.

Either way he'd be a hell of a, pick up in round 3.
