I can see us taking him. But this is dependent upon McClain going before 12... If McClain is there at 12 I dont think we let him by....

They also have Miami getting Damian Williams in Rd. 3. He is one of the top Wr, so I doubt he falls deep into Rd. 2 much less Rd. 3

Jeez for such a big dude that Toby kid has amazing balance, strength and cutting ability!!
He's not the quickest... but hell I'd take him in the late rounds... if we pass on Spiller

I was shocked this guy didn't get more heisman attention. How big is he? Wonder if he'd like to play TE, I'd love to see him line up there for us

Due to Ronnie's inability to stay healthy and having two major injuries in 3 years, I can see us thinking about running back high in the draft ... but that would be next year. We have Ricky for another year and Patrick Cobbs should be back.
I see ILB, OLB, DT, S, and WR to be more pressing needs (not in that order). With that said, you still have to go with the best player available in this draft and RB is a need. We need to continue to build the foundation of this team through the draft. I view Ronnie (injury) and Ricky (age) as part time backs.

how in the world is he not like Brown?
I surely hope that's a joke.
IDK about MT, but I agree with him.

no joke, they look similar to me. One of the only big differences is his burst, but overall both are big bodied quality backs.

Not to sound racist, but it's weird to see a white RB, expecially wearing the number 7, he looks like a big QB running the ball, but damn is he tough.

I'd say Toby is more like Csonka than anyone.

One of the only big differences is his burst, eh? That's like saying Jay Fiedler is the same as Dan Marino, only one of the big differences is his arm strength.
Gerhart is 6'1" 235, Brown 6'0" 230...ok, maybe they're similar. Gerhart's fastest 40 time was 4.48 while Brown's was 4.32
Gerhart has 39 catches in 3 seasons, while Brown had 35 catches his senior season.
I'm beginning to think you're just a troll around these parts.

your just being ridiculous
I did just see those pass catching stats myself, I was kind of surprised because Gerhart catches the ball fairly well. He only runs a 4.48, oh my goodness. And Brown ran a 4.32? I wonder why I agreed with PR about not having the burst Brown has. Could it be due to the fact that Brown is faster. No way, that couldn't be it.
Comparing Fiedler to Marino? wow..........just wow
You do realise Gerhart is not some DIII RB don't you. As it has been posted earlier in this thread he was 2nd on the heisman list. This kid can play.
Lastly, I am a huge fan of Brown and I would not be happy to see him go.
Re: MdDolfan... I guess someone heard you (RB CJ Spiller)
Loved the footage of Spiller and I must say the kid is a multi-faceted home-run hitter. What I noticed missing from his repertoire is the between-the-tackles running that a Parcell's runningback needs. He reminds me more of a Westbrook type back than a Barber or Brown/Williams type back. Gerhardt in a later round makes more sense to me, but I doubt we draft a back at all because we have Brown for one more year, plus Williams, Cobbs and Hilliard.
Dude is a bowling bowl. I would love to pick him up in the third, but like I previously stated, I don't think a runningback is exactly a need for us right now. We would have to cut or trade another one of our backs if we drafted him.

Through the whole I think he is, but not in the open field. But that qualifies as burst, which is me and MT's point.
Big, physical, shifty RB's.
Gerhart is not shifty. Regardless, I'm not sure you have a point. You can't continually compare players just based on size and the position they play.
