VW makes good cars.
I like my 2010 Maxima better, though.

I like my 2010 Maxima better, though. My friend has a Maxima....2006 I think. We're going to "compare" them tomorrow. I'll get back to you on the results. It says the 0-60 on this is 6.7, but I did less than that today. Going to see what the max I can get is tomorrow. It's so fast...especially in 2nd gear, the thing just glides through the air. Makes a great sound too, almost like you're on a space ship or something.

Heh, you only got about 200 horses under the hood with the GTI....
The Maxima has 300....
I'll see ya in my rearview.

I'll see ya in my rearview. Yeah but you've got a 3.5L engine...you need all that horse power and torque just to pick itself up. It also weighs 500+ pounds more than mine. 2.0 Turbo charged engine in the GTI. 0-60 I would have you. Anything above that the 6 cylinder V6 would kick in and you would kick my butt.

Trust me.... you wouldn't have me at any speed. I have CVT.

I have CVT. Damn yeah...less than 6 seconds 0-60. You win. Lol. To salvage my pride, I do get much better mpg.

Nice ride. That's my favorite part of the car. Expensive as hell to replace, but I put a 5 year warranty on them, so, they'll be looking like that for at least 60 months. PZ, what year is your VW? The early 2000 cars seem to need a lot of repairs. Supposedly they have improved their reliability tremendously since around 2006-2007. Hopefully my car lasts for a LOOOOONG time.

 Re: New ride...
VW makes some reliable cars, if you exclude the Beetle. But the Jetta and the Passat are excellent cars.

 Re: New ride...
It's a 2002 VW Passat Wagon... I mean it runs, but every time I get something fixed, something else breaks.
I also drive 140+ miles a day... soo can't expect too much I guess.

Well, I bought it with 48,000 miles on it in October 2008... it now sports 116,000 miles... So if I cross my T's and dot my I's it comes to about 68000 miles or 34,000 miles/year Good thing I don't lease! hahaha

 Re: New ride...
I'll stick with my 09 F150 SuperCrew. I could probably fit the GTI in the bed if you ever break down. it's a nice car though. I used to have an 02 Jetta TDi. I loved it, until I tried to ride around with 2 small kids in the back seat and my knees were on the dash.

I've brought it to a number of mechanics... It's just a bad design... right now I'm waiting for the courts to settle a battle between NJ and VW for a leak issue... it's going to appeals court now after the initial ruling was in favor of the state... so it could be awhile before I get that money back. I'm sure a lot of it is just normal wear and tear too from all the travel. Right now it has an exhaust leak, the O2 censor (one of them) is breaking/broken and it has a rattle in the front.

 Re: New ride...
I love my 05 Accord coupe, this is my 2nd Accord with no complaints.
Careful pushing that car so hard PR, it would suck to blow the engine so quickly.
