An aggressive defense turned the Jets into the #1 defense in the NFL. I am hopeful for a positive transformation in our defense. I am a little concerned that it is possible that offenses figured out Nolan's defense at Denver the 2nd half of the season.

I honestly believe that if we can turn our defense around can make a great run at the playoffs next year. Our offense is going to get better just by having that extra year together with henne under center. We can put up points, when healthy, and hold the ball when needed to close out a game, the dagger this season was giving up the big plays that were huge momentum changers.

I think a year under the defense's belt helps too. Three guys in the secondary were rookies. Wake had his first year in live NFL game action, and Merling and Langford are going into their third seasons and should be a couple of guys that will help destroy offenses' front lines.

Get a nose tackle, get another couple linebackers, and if they feel like Clemons isn't fit for the Free Safety spot yet, then get another one of those and this defense will be set.

Quite the laundry list, but it's nice that you can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Just my opinion but the circus side-show created by Josh McDaniels caused the entire team to lose faith (rewind to the whirlwind created by Cam Cameron when rumors circulated that Porter questioned his ability to coach without any retribution). McDaniels had another dispute with Brandon Marshall and openly questioned his injury. At the same time, all pro TE Adam Scheffler was benched due to insubordination. Toward the very end, the Broncos were the worst team in the league. They gave up 40 points to the Chiefs at home in the final game. I don't think they could've beaten the Browns in that last game. Again, I don't think it was a reflection on Nolan who took the defense from 29th overall to 7th. I think that ranking would be higher if not for the problems noted above.

One has to wonder how JPeezy would perform in an attacking, aggressive style of defense. Personally, I think it would be great if they could talk him into returning. I'm sure that Nolan would figure out a way to get Wake, Taylor and Porter on the field at the same time. One things for sure, Nolan's defense is a lot like Ryans...it will go down swinging.

I don't know why you're hitting your head. Call it what you want. Where I come from that phrase means it's an extensive list of things needed to be redone/fixed/cleaned, etc.

Call it my weak attempt at a joke regarding how Parcells commented in the past about cooking the meal and how he would like to shop for the groceries. You mmentioned laundry so I brought up groceries instead. I expect Parcells will have another heavy hand in exactly who we draft this year.
