Why haven't the Dolphins signed C JC Tretter?

C'mon. Everyone is thinking it. Why haven't the Dolphins signed this guy? Clearly we do not have a center if we have to move Connor Williams to center. PFF considers him the 5th best center in the NFL.

If he's that good, why hasn't anyone else signed him? We're not the only bad o-line/open C position in town.

I'm still wondering if Williams had C discussions with the Dolphins during negotiations.

It would give us 4 good answers on the O-line and simultaneously improve our depth. Why the heck not? Either 1) he's priced himself out of the market for his position or
2) teams are scared off by his union status (or both)

Maybe it is a combination of things. I don't know how much he is asking but if significant then you also factor in according to press I remember reading he could not practice much if at all last year do to health issues.

If he needs to put in the work to learn a new O and jell with new teammates maybe the thought is he probably will not last all of next season at what price and when will it happen.
