Post LeGarrette Blount?
Cut by Titans. This dude was projected to be a first rounder last year at this time, screwed up in college, and now has no team.

Thoughts?

I think with somebody like Ricky Williams that has been humbled could be a mentor to this kid. Then again, it might not be a good idea to let a "Blount" around Ricky...... :)

Anyway, this kid is a bowling ball (6' 240#) bruising back with good acceleration. With the teams current running backs contracts being up after this year, I say we take a look at this kid and maybe put him on the PS.

If we can sneak him onto the PS, that's a no brainer.

He killed Coach Sparano's South team at the Sr. Bowl.

He wasn't all too impressive in the Pre Season, but I do like his talent. For me the potential is there and I think it's worth the risk.

Not only didn't he learn his lesson earlier but he just punched a helmet. Genius

I was kinda on his side at first cause that dude didn't need to talk trash after Blount lost the game. So I didn't blame him for cold cockin that punk whos uniform wasnt dirty. But then the anger issues exposed themselves. This kid doesnt have the self respect to be in the NFL

Do you realize how many training camp fights there are? Take away the college punch & the other one does not make the news. As Fisher more or less put it. Its a non issue.

Can't remember which preseason game it was for sure (iirc, it was against the Cardinals), but Blount was running with power and breaking tackles with ease. He even hurdled a tackler in the middle of one of those runs. Hard to be sure of his ability if it is against back-ups....but he did seem to be a special player. He might be exactly the kind of back this offense needs, judging from the poor line play as of late.

Fighting's one thing, IF the other guy is game.

Sucker punching is a whole other genre.

He's a sissy. If it's a "non issue" as Fisher says it's either one of two things. Fisher is lying and the kid is a sack of crap or he just sucks and has no heart. I say a little of both, no thanks.

Stash him on the practice squad and pray he can stay there until next season. He'd be a great project back in case we lose Ricky or Ronnie next season. You could take Incognito on the OL and combine him with Blount at RB and I think it would be a very nice one-two punch on offense for the future. Pun intended. LoL

Blount was at fault. Paid the price for his actions.

How many of us would want our whole lives to be judge by our worse action as a young man? I would not, but I'm not throwing stones either.

People who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

I think its safe to say Blount is far from a sissy. Now you typing it hidding behind a keyboard.

Just saying

Why would a training camp fight with him be any differnt than between two others? It was a non issue because it was not note worthy.

I don't think we need to take a chance on a guy that lacks self control like Blount.

FYI Rich Incognito is not the poster child of self control. Brandon Marshall is not the poster child of self control.

Blount sure looked awesome in preseason action....keep your eyes on him in TB. Sometimes, a little success and a change of scenery can work wonders on a player's mindset..... just ask Randy Moss

Ronnie Brown's contract is up after this season, and Ricky isn't getting any younger. Blount is a solid power runningback prospect. The way I see it, we need to really start thinking about life without Ricky and Ronnie because I don't think we'll have both come next season.

Excellent points but I would say that I think some of Marshall's problems have been blown a little out of proportion. He is not exactly TO.
