 Who could be trade bait
The combination of no CBA (bad free agency with all the RFAs) and a deep draft has me wondering if Miami's approach will be acquiring as many picks as possible this offseason. Who do you think Miami could use to net some mid to late round draft picks?

Re: Who could be trade bait
Couldnt we get a 6th or 7th for Porter? If we could get a 4th for Crowder or Gin we could package that with our 1st rounder and move up to nab Mclain!

Porter. Camarillo. Ginn would be the only 3 I could think of. MAYBE, Crowder. Can attempt to trade Ayodele. But, will likely just have to cut him.

We can find A LOT of guys to replace Crowders production. He's not that good without a stud next to him.

Then give CC a stud next to him....Right now, you can't guarantee that we can replace Crowder. Plus, he's cheap, and he's extremely familiar with our system.

What is Will Allen's status? I can see us letting him go to keep getting younger at cb..

He's my favorite Dolphin and probably wouldn't net a worthwhile price but Ronnie Brown should be on the block.

Re: Who could be trade bait
I have not read anywhere that Ayodele is a free agent. They are talking about cutting him. He still has a year or two left on his deal.
I think Ted Ginn is your most likely target. Camarillo's team friendly contract might make him attractive to WR starved teams. I've said it before, but maybe a guy like Merling, who maybe needs more time to emerge, makes a nice piece for teams looking to convert to a 34 defense.
Not sure much really happens, just proposing some out of the box ideas.

I think Ted Ginn is your most likely target. The only team I see that is as much or more starved at WR than our team would be the Baltimore Ravens, particularly considering Mason's likely retirement. I feel that they will be our likeliest competitor in the free agent WR market. Finding a way to trade Ted Ginn to them makes more sense than trying to work out a deal for him with any other team. Ginn has speed that would pair nicely with Flacco's big arm, and Ted and his family could be reunited with Cam Cameron in Balt. Furthermore, sending Ginn there would lessen Baltimore's need to go after the guys we're likely to go after. It all sounds rosy, the only problem is that Ted Ginn's trade value and cap number (vs. production) absolutely suck.

Not sure much really happens, just proposing some out of the box ideas. on another forum we mentioned the same about merling ,maybe a team like denver would have some interest??? [merling and a pick for marshall???] ginn is a obvious choice for a trade hoping to get a 4th or 5th for him it would be nice to get a pick or 2 from one of the players below OLB Joey Porter – The Dolphins owe Porter $1.2 million on bonuses by March. If they believe the aging pass rusher is worth the bonuses, plus his $3.6 million salary in 2010 he’ll stay for at least one more season. If they decide they don't want him around he'll be cut loose, becoming an unrestricted free agent. ILB Akin Ayodele– He’ll be 31 next season, and while he’s still productive (finishing third on the team with 71 tackles) he’s due $3.25 million in the final year of his existing deal. Ayodele is great in the community, and in the locker room, but he struggled with a couple of injuries last season. ILB Reggie Torbor – The team’s backup inside linebacker had an average season (37 tackles, one sack, one interception), but is due above average money ($3.05 million) in 2010. While it's ideal for the linebacker unit to get younger, it's hard to justify letting both Ayodele and Torbor go in one offseason. Torbor also serves as one of the top special teams contributors. CB Jason Allen– The team’s 2006 first-round pick hasn’t established himself as a reliable cornerback in two seasons at the position. He's due $1.27 million in 2010, which is a lot for a backup cornerback who primarily served as a special teams ace. But cutting Allen means they create another void on the roster. It's more realistic that he'll be brought to training camp and asked to compete for playing time.

Brown, Williams or Porter may be the only players that would attract another team. (Merling too)But Brown seems the most attractive and i would deal him for a 4th rounder or better.

Hey, I trade number 2 overalls for a 4th round pick every day. By overalls I mean the pants, and by 4th round pick, I mean someone gets to pick my nose after I've had 4 rounds of beer.

I'd trade Chad Henne for a supplemental draft pick.

I don't question what other team's would give up for him. I'm just not so sure that giving up Brown for a 4th rounder makes any sense. He's a first round talent, he's struggled with injuries, yes...but when he's in there, this offense goes.
