Oh, I don't think there any question about that. I'm hoping Miami signs Brandon Banks, the WR/RS from Kansas State.

I think this guy just needs a good motivator. He sure does have the size.

He's my sleeper to make the team....

Maryland's Profile for Travis Ivey

Stats

Overview
Travis Ivey started all 12 games as a senior at DT and received an invite to the Texas vs. Nation all-star game. Ivey stayed healthy his senior year after battling leg and foot injuries earlier in his collegiate career. Didn't start playing football until his junior year of HS, as he was a basketball player prior to that.
Strengths
Ivey has excellent size and above-average athleticism for the NT position. He's a space eater with the strength to hold position well. Has exceptional lower-body strength to anchor and drive. Athletic player with good explosiveness to be disruptive in the backfield. Can shoot the gap. Has long arms and is adept at knocking down passes.
Weaknesses
Inconsistent player who really hasn't shown the production that a player with his skills should. He's more than just a space eater, yet he struggles to make plays. He doesn't play with an attitude and seems content to just push people around without an intent to get to the ball. Had trouble earning a starting position prior to senior season. Really needs to be coached up and motivated.
Projection
With more teams playing a 3-4, he'll get some attention with his size and athleticism, but his lack of production and motivation will keep him from being a high draft pick. Look for him to hear his name in the second half of day 3 of the 2010 NFL Draft. He'll need some time with good coaching before he can be a productive NFL player, but he could get there if he sets his mind to it.

Another prospect who was a former team leader. I seriously doubt he makes the team, but you never know. Parcells seems to add one or two rookie free agents to the team.

I had him in my last mock draft too. Benched 44 reps of 225 at his Pro Day and he's pretty athletic. Plays at about 295.

Here's another pretty good review of who we've taken after the draft from the Palm beach post.

http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thedailydolphin/2010/04/25/miami-dolphins-search-for-next-davone-bess-in-undrafted-rookie-pool/

I like Ivy's chances as a NT prospect, and Oghobaase was expected to go in the first few rounds before his injuries in his senior year. The other guy I like the looks of is the DB/return man from Penn State, A.J. Wallace. He should get a look as a return man in camp.

I saw that we listed on the phinfever home page that Kyle Harrington is a DE from UMASS at 6'4" 290lbs. I went to read a bit of his Bio and the UMASS athletic site has him listed as a FB at 6'1" 235lbs.

I was looking at the list of UDFA signings on nfldraftbible.com and i was pretty amazed at the amount of players that went UD that I expected to go in the draft. This year was pretty strange, for me at least. I don't remember there being this many players with mid round draft grades going UD. I also noticed that the Jets grabbed Donovan Warren. Yet another corner that had high draft grades in the beginning of the process and somehow got lost. I guess the Jets are trying to get a secondary of all stars in hopes of when they send there entire front 7 at the QB they won't be able to complete a pass. I hate them. Is there a max # of UDFA the Phins can bring in? If not I wonder if we are done, or are we going to see a couple of more guys come in.

Post Aldridge gets invited to Phins' rookie mini-camp
Quote:
James Aldridge's uphill climb into the NFL will begin Thursday when he attends the four-day Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp. The Merrillville graduate and former Notre Dame tailback-turned-fullback did not sign a contract, but he now has a shot to earn consideration for one.

"It's a blessing," Aldridge told The Times. "It's all I could ask for. All I need is an opportunity. I'm going to go down there and take care of business."

When T.F. South grad Pierre Thomas scored the first New Orleans touchdown in Super Bowl XLIV in February, it was another case of an undrafted free agent succeeding in the NFL.

Aldridge, who went undrafted this past weekend, is well aware of the trend. Being drafted is nice, but it isn't everything. Hard work often trumps pedigree.

"That's the story, the history behind everything, really, in the NFL," Aldridge said. "I'm just gonna go and follow assignments and, God willing, some holes can open up and everything can fall into place."

The 5-foot-11, 214-pounder ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds at his pro day March 23. In 36 games with the Fighting Irish -- fighting injuries, depth chart fluctuation and a move to fullback -- Aldridge had 1,010 yards from scrimmage on 255 carries and eight receptions.

Another former University of Montana football player has a chance to make the Miami Dolphins roster.

Tight end Dan Beaudin of Noxon says he was invited to the team's rookie mini-camp this weekend.

Beaudin earned honorable mention all-Big Sky Conference honors after catching 31 passes for 342 yards and three touchdowns for the Griz in 2009.

Former Griz players Dan Carpenter of Helena and Lex Hilliard of Kalispell are already on the Dolphins roster. Carpenter, a kicker, played in the Pro Bowl after his second season. Hilliard, a running back, saw action on special teams and an increasing role on the offense late in the 2009 season.

Quote:
DAVIE
The Dolphins will bring in a rookie tight end after all.

Montana's undrafted Dan Beaudin will be in Davie when the Dolphins' rookie minicamp opens Friday afternoon.

"I'm the only tight end going to their camp," Beaudin told the Missoulian. "They have four tight ends right now, but to me it looks like one of the best shots I could have on any of the NFL teams."

Restricted free agent Anthony Fasano heads the list of Dolphins holdovers at the position. He's joined by Joey Haynos, Kory Sperry and 2009 fifth-round pick John Nalbone.

Beaudin made 21 starts in college and stands 6 feet 5 and 252 pounds, prototypical size for the position ...

GO GRIZ!!!!!!!!!!
:yay:
I sure wish we would have drafted Marc Mariani, but I think with Bess and Camarillo already filling the same role, he wouldn't have made the roster. He, in my opinion, is a lot like Wes Welker.

........and so continues Bill Parcells love affair with the Montana Grizzlies. ; )

Interesting last minute add ons. Reading on james aldridge, he seems to have great size and speed/athleticism for a RB. Also, Dan Beaudin. Yet another Montana Grizzly. I see our FO is really starting to like these Montana and Utah guys. Can't complain yet Carpenter and Hilliard have really done a nice job. Has anyone watched this kid play??
