Just thought this was interesting that not ESPN or NFL network and have been talking about Ray Rice punching his fiancé out cold at all, or being indicted. But we're all over the Jonathan and Richie bullying scandal and how much of a distraction that was and etc. but nothing for Ray Rice knocking out his fiancé out cold

Yeah and Ray Rice isnt crazy, he won't be on CNN, ESPN, NFL Network and all over tv, the Ravens won't be a dysfunctional organization who lets anything go on. He wont have to have any mental evaluations because lord knows striking your wife isn't even on the same level as a grown man at 6'5 and over 300 pounds getting bullied

Inexcusable what he did. But its not really apples to apples. While the thing here might have been a bit over blown , the thing was it happened during the season, under everyone's noses.

And we get hammered for a " bully ". What a media joke.....

Quote:
Rice was one of three Ravens players to be arrested in a 22-day period. Backup wide receiver Deonte Thompson was arrested for possession of marijuana on Feb. 21, and reserve offensive lineman Jah Reid was arrested on two misdemeanor charges of battery on March 9.

People will have their own opinions, but in my book a guy NEVER lays a hand on a women like that and I don't care if she came at him or not, he should never get that angry and use his strength on her like that... Pathetic is what Ray Rice is.

and yeah all the major newscasts cover a 6'5 325 pound NFL FOOTBALL PLAYER that got bullied and this Rice ordeal gets not nearly the media attention.

If you are referring to my post, it was pure sarcasm. Ray is a POS and too be honest, there are a lot of NFL players that fit this bill.

Great post, and so true. The Martin drama was more about the media's agenda.

The public and the media have sadly grown accustomed to behavior similar to Rice's. The whole bullying scandal was something new ( at least to most of us) and hit on the flavor of the day (bullying). I think many people were intrigued by the fact a tough 300lb plus lineman could be bullied. I am not saying there were not other mental issues going on but Martin does appear to have been bullied. I do not know all the facts and I did not read the texts that were released.

Totally agree Finhead but in the McMichael case when he was a Fin , sentiment here was a bit different.

No Mak, my post had nothing to do with yours as I knew where you were coming from, my comment was just in my mind NO ONE should hit a girl period.

Sorry, but if ANYBODY, regardless of gender, is coming at me with the intent to serious injure or end me, I will do what is required to defend myself.

Unless we are talking "extreme examples" about a female with a gun or a weapon coming at you, then I will recant my approach to my opinion of hitting a girl, but to clarify more of what I mean...... in this situation Ray Rice is in a one on one relationship with a female that he is supposed to marry (I think) in my book you just do not hit the girl. He is at fault either way for allowing the situation to escalate as such and even further more to use an all out fist blow to knock her out, sorry not in my book. He is EASILY strong enough to restrain her.

Anyway, everyone is different. This is just my thinking and I guess since I have lived my life being raised that way from dating at a young age and now being married for 26 years, I guess it is just unfathomable to me.

If she slapped or pushed him, yes restraining her is the correct approach. I agree with that.

If she is coming with a knife, I am going to knock her out.

Also, don't underestimate some women. There are some ladies in my mixed martial arts class that will end you.

Oh yeah Rich. I often think how the entire landscape of looking at someone off the street that is 135 pounds has changed (I am 5'10 220) and I am fully realistic with the increased popularity of Mixed Martial Arts training that even more so you NEVER know what your dealing with, especially well trained technical folks. This now goes for women. Sure I might be "physically" stronger, but now your dealing with high cardio, fast and precise striking coming from all angles and throw in the fact that women are now so well trained, you never know.

I realize more than ever, unless someone is threatening me into a corner or threatening my family, I really try and avoid confrontation. I also think the average guy no matter how big and strong, once you get past that first 2 minute adrenaline rage of strength and anger, MOST people will peter out and if your going up against an MMA person, forget it. Period.

Not just the striking, but if the fight goes to the ground, you're really at a disadvantage against a person that has jujitsu training. They can quickly incapacitate any ability you have of fighting back.

True Love

Quote:
On Thursday, Ravens running back Ray Rice was indicted for aggravated assault of his fiancee. On Friday, he married her.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Janay Palmer and Rice exchanged vows last night, in a ceremony that had been scheduled for weeks.

The conscious coupling could insulate Palmer from having to testify against the man who allegedly rendered her unconscious. But the niceties of New Jersey law won’t matter. Since the incident happened in a casino, chances are that the only evidence needed will be the videotape of the alleged punch that knocked her out.

The video reportedly exists, and it will go a long way toward proving beyond a reasonable doubt that assault was committed, regardless of whether Palmer takes the stand.

Rice faces three to five years in prison on the felony charge. In the wake of his indictment, the Ravens have expressed support for the veteran running back.
