6. Mike Wallace

Not many people really expected Mike Wallace with the Miami Dolphins to work considerably well and those people were correct in thinking that way. Though he came on for a brief stretch near the end of the year, Wallace was more known this year for dropping balls and being incredibly inconsistent.

There’s still a ton of upside and talent with Wallace, though, and we’ve seen the Dolphins trade big-name wide receivers early in their contracts before with Brandon Marshall. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Dolphins look to unload Wallace in the interest of getting either early picks in the 2014 draft or of getting depth at other positions of need like on the offensive line or at running back.

We need him. Especially now that we have Lazor running his system. Screw the media.

I agree. This will be the most efficient offense in the league next season , especially now that we are lazer powered. We need Wallace to stretch the field.

Don't teams get whacked for trying to trade away cap money? And for most of that list who is going to pay some of those guys (especially Chris Johnson at 10 million)?

If we trade Wallace it better be for either Andre Johnson or Vincent Jackson. The likeliness of that happening are about 0%. We can get all we need with what picks and money we have.

Let's trade him for two third round draft picks. It will be fun watching him score TDs on another team.

How many drops did Wallace have?

Obviously whoever wrote this comment did not watch the Dolphin games.

Ryan Tannehill had a 23% accuracy percentage on throws to Mike Wallace of passes of 20 yards or more. The below article depicts FACTS that Wallace got open a number of times only for the ball to either be underthrown, thrown out of bounds or thrown too far. Also, Mike Wallace according to NFL statistics was credited with 3 dropped passes.

While its true Tannehill was not the most accurate when throwing to Wallace , it seems that we discussed his drops much more than 3 times around here & much more than 3 times when in the game chat.
These guys simply had no chemistry, and to think we were so excited that they were working out together in the off season while we were also writing & gloating that Brady was having no contact with his receivers.
Well , its funny how things work out. Par for the course for the Dolphins.

Sure, I can see that. We'll remake 3/5 of our offensive line, add a running back, another receiver, a balanced tight end that can catch and block, add a full back to get us those 4th and 1's, implement a new offense and we'll be in the Super Bowl with an undefeated season. We'll go from the 27th best offense to the overall best in just 6 months. Lazor will be a miracle worker and be head coaching material in a year as every team will want him as their head coach.

:haha

Seriously Fin ...... give it up already. Talk like a normal poster. Clearly this superstitious style didn't work for you in 2013 so I don't see the point of keeping up with this act of yours.

It was ugly this year.

Some of us have talked about this, but if they want to be successful they're better off getting a bigger receiver with a larger catching radius.

While I agree with you I still wouldn't get rid of Wallace. If Lazor actually thinks beyond a vanilla high school offense and puts Wallace in motion, lines him up in the slot, gets a run game that opens up play action, etc. then Wallace will get the ball in the end zone.

Stinks to keep pointing it out but Brandon Marshall would have been perfect for Tannehill. The only big target WR in the draft I know off the top of my head is Mike Evans and I'm not sure Miami can afford yet another WR in free agency. There are too many needs already, especially o-line.

Only the Dolphins who NEEDED a star receiver get a star receiver with Brandon Marshall who by the way is now been one of the very top NFL receivers for ANOTHER team after trading him away for lint to Mike Wallace where Tannehill proceeded to probably have left another 5-10 touchdowns off the table due to poor throws/chemistry and this team cannot gel with either talent.

It is just ridiculous.

Even if it's 6 (It wasn't)...Thats not a bad number.

He was being blamed for things that were out of his control alot of the time.If they connect on half those misses he has a huge year.
That and you take into consideration they didn`t even use him in a couple games..Like week 2

Basically if you get paid an obscene amount of money you become public enemy #1 to the media and get blamed for everything. Wallace should have had his cape on all year.

Is there a WR in the draft with arms that are 10 yards long?

What are you talking about Rock? He is posting like a normal poster.

I agree... we will easily be the most efficient offense this season. Lazor is legit.

I don't see Miami parting ways with Wallace for at least 2 more years. His salary cap number for 2014 is $17,000,000 +. I was disappointed in how Wallace won't fight for the ball. He is definitely not an Alpha receiver. However, I believe the lack of a running game this year seriously crippled Miami's passing game. If Miami can get a consistent running game, Wallace will get open deep more often and with even more separation. Tannehill is going to have to improve on his long ball accuracy. But getting 1 or 2 more deep throws in a game should mean more deep completions. Hopefully the new GM can improve the o-line and Lazor can get the offense more productive.

I don't think we will have the most efficient offense next year but we will have a lot better offense than we did this year. I'm not sure why it's so wrong to think positive.

Wallace and RT aren't suited for each other.RT will never hit this guy in stride. If you can't hit a guy in stride after a season of working together, it just isn't going to happen. Rt needs more of a physical post up player like a BMarsh.Wallace will be a bust as long as RT is the QB in Miami.

Completely bogus stat. Wallace had 11 drops, tied for 5 in the NFL.
