Post Broncos Adam Gase emerging as hot young coaching candidat
right now the only coaching candidate that interests me is Gase.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/writer/jas ... -candidate

Quote:
Gase's coaching roots go back to Alabama coach Nick Saban -- deeply respected in NFL circles -- and he's spent time on the scouting side, developing talent-evaluation skills, and has also worked with coaches like Mike Martz, and Steve Mariucci. Gase was a key part of McCoy's staff when the Broncos managed to reinvent their offense on the fly and went to the playoffs with Tim Tebow in 2011, and, as receivers coach, he helped cull career years out of guys like Brandon Lloyd.

That's alot to like

Yes like Denver was great before Manning. Let's let them win a playoff game first.

35 years old…That's pretty young.

The things that concern me the most about a Head Coach are: 1) Is he a leader of men? Will he command respect in the locker room from players and his assistants. Will he be able to get the most out of his team on a consistent basis? 2) Can he build a good coaching staff? Has he developed enough relationships in the NFL to bring top assistants and coordinators in? 3) Is he creative and flexible, or is he stubborn like this staff and the previous one, trying to fit players to your system rather than cater what you do to the strengths of your top players?

The first two things are tough to get a gage on since he's so young, and has only been in the NFL for a short time. The 3rd one is also tough because it's not really his offense in Denver; it's Peyton's. That said, you don't climb up the ranks and be given the job of Peyton Manning's offensive coordinator at 34 years old while being stubborn about your system.

Swerve, how is he the only candidate that you have interest in? There are plenty of respectable names that could potentially be options, from college coaches, to young guys like Jay Gruden who is in a very similar situation to Gase, to "proven" guys who have HC experience and success.

Gase is an interesting name, but I think Ross will lean more towards experience and a guy he KNOWS will have a firm hold on his team.
