Was just watching the highlights and they showed that 3rd and Inches where he gets stuffed at the line.

The blocking wasn't ideal, anyone can see that... but you can also see that Thomas never even runs into that pile with a full head of steam.

The dude gets the ball, for some strange reason does a little hop, skip and a jump like he's got a skip-it ball wrapped around his ankle and then just gets completely clobbered... no momentum on his side to even lightly push the pile.

Give the ball to Clay on those drives from now on... hell even Egnew... Daniel Thomas has NO POWAH!

The left side of the OL got blown up on that play. They even shifted their LBs. RT should've noticed the 1 on 1 coverage on Wallace and take the shot. You might get beat, but go down swinging.

No doubt... but how many times did Bernard and Green Ellis run into a blown up offensive line and get positive yardage. This is supposed to be our "power back"... gimme a break this guy couldn't break chop sticks.

I remember that play and wondering why he didn't attack the line. When it is 3rd and 1 and you don't see the hole, get that yard any way that you can.

Yeah, he needs to run straight ahead behind the center, not offtackle.

Sorry guys.........I think you need to go back and look at that play again. The entire left side of the line was blown up. He was hit by a Bengal's Wall 3 yards deep in the backfield.

Unless you're expecting Thomas to transform himself into a tank...........there's no way a RB is getting a first down on that play.

That is the play I watched.

The blocking has been subpar at times. I think we were looking for a little more effort from him. Does anyone have a video clip of it?

Here's a highlight clip from NFL.com. The play occurs at 2:59 in the clip.

Thanks. Yep, there's nothing he could have done. He was mugged.

The problem isn't that he didn't get it, the problem is the hop right from the hand off. Keep your god darn feet on the ground and pound that ball into the line... stop skipping around like a sissy.

Really do not understand why you are dogging DT on this play. The hop was more to get around the FB who was being met deep in the backfield by the defender and he had to get around his legs.. Otherwise he trips over them. The whole play got blown up & Thomas had nothing to do with not getting it. He gets hit 1 to 1.5 yards behind the line.

I disagree with your analysis. As has already been pointed out looks he was trying to avoid opposing player already in the backfield.
