If the Browns are willing to trade away just about anyone, maybe we can get some cheap OLine help.
Anyone know what kind of a scheme they use? Anyone on their line a good fit?

While I do believe that Jonathan Martin will be a good OLT, Joe Thomas is a Pro Bowl OLT.

I'd love to see us put together a deal for Thomas. That being said, I think it's highly unlikely

Poor Browns fans...they not only thought they could beat the Dolphins but had hope

And now we get credit for beating a 2 win team.

Do you think they are saying why didn't we draft Tannehill instead of Richardson...We got pretty lucky with that pick if you think about it...That draft class is not real good other than the qb's, not named Weedon

The likelihood of them trading Thomas is about zero.

That said, there's no way I'm trading for that contract. His signing bonus was only 6 million, meaning you're basically taking all of that 10/yr.

No way in hell an offensive lineman is worth that much money. I don't care if it only takes a 7th round pick, no thanks. I'll stick with Martin.

Miami is not going to worry about Cleveland's fire sale of players anyway.

Cleveland is not trading Joe Thomas. While RB are being devalued, OT, Pro Bowl caliber OT are a very precious commodity.

It all pretty and glamorous to have very good skill people, but if you don't have the personnel on the OL and DL, YOU LOSE.

We agree there.

Where we disagree is on the value of an elite OT.

You absolutely need to be solid. But solid isn't that hard to find. Being elite at the position doesn't make nearly enough of a difference to warrant that kind of money, IMO.

The Browns won't be any worse by swapping Joe Thomas for Jonathan Martin, and Miami not much better. There isn't a 7-8 million difference there.

"About the only people safe are the ones that came here this year in the first round that were drafted by the guys that are making the calls right now," Thomas said after practice Friday, according to the Akron Beacon Journal. "That's the way it is. I've been through four coaching staffs right now and GMs. And if you're not drafted by them, there's no safety in this business."
