Post Coyle to Dion Jordan: "Finish the play"
I'm not sure why Jordan only played 7 plays on defense against the Colts, but what a phenomenal athlete to only play 7 downs and have what should have been a sack. I think Coyle knows exactly how to use Jordan and needs to get him more involved on passing plays.

Barry Jackson wrote:
Rookie first-round draft pick Dion Jordan played only seven of the Dolphins’ 73 snaps on defense against Indianapolis on Sunday, but defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle said Monday he is “going to try to get Dion more involved.”

Jordan, who also played on special teams, rushed the quarterback on five of those snaps and dropped into coverage on two.

On a third-and-11 early in the fourth quarter, Jordan squandered a chance for a sack when he tried to push Colts quarterback Andrew Luck to the ground instead of tackling him. Luck got a first down.

“I thought Dion thought he threw it, so he pulled up,” Coyle said, noting Luck faked a throw “as Dion was approaching him.”

The lesson there?

“Finish the play!” Coyle said.

You can tell Jordan has the potential to be a force as a pass rusher.

The kid has a motor and I am excited to him continue to develop.

I'd like to see Shelby more to be honest. Jordan is raw, but I don't want him to re-injure is shoulder.

Agreed. We have the talent needed to be extra careful with Jordan.

That said, we need all guns blazing against Matt Ryan this Sunday.

You're on thin ice, buddy. I'm getting the anarchists and Occupy Wallstreet crowd and we're marching on your house today if you don't tone it down...

*disclaimer - this post never happened, it is just a figment of your imagination

I'd like to see a little more of Shelby, too, but in place of Olivier Vernon. Usually when I talk crap aboout a player they start to play well and make me look like an idiot;)

Thanks Rich...

Vernon sure doesnt appear to be the dominant DE we were reading about during camp.

You have to think they are treating him lightly coming off his injury

Vernon got held a lot (IMO) Also, Jordan will eventually start stealing snaps from him and someday I envision Wake and Jordan killing it on the edges.
