Miami tight end Charles Clay is not an easy man to please, even after setting a career high in receiving yards.

Clay caught five passes for 109 yards in the Dolphins’ 24-20 win at Indianapolis on Sunday, while he also rushed for the game-winning touchdown.

Clay’s performance is the second-most receiving yards in a game by a Dolphins tight end, falling short of Ferrell Edmunds’ 117-yard performance against the New York Jets in 1988.

I liked him since we drafted him, but he didn't look so good in the preseason. I thought he was going to get cut. Glad to see him getting it together. Still needs to be better at blocking.

I am glad Charles Clay has proved me wrong on my personal opinions.

There for awhile, I wanted him cut from the team because of all his drops and inconsistency.

Very nice to see him to hopefully start developing and maintaining the skills and reason why Miami drafted him in the first place.

If Clay keeps this up, we'll be forgetting about Dustin Keller.

Although how nice would it be to have Clay and Keller lining up together next season in base formations?

Or even have a 5 wide line up with Wallace, Hartline, Gibson, Keller and Clay?

Who do you cover?

Or be able to use Clay out of the backfield, and in motion more?

Right now they have Sims and Egnew inline to open things up for Clay, but eventually you need to get some production out of that position as well.

Still, Clay maturing is HUGE for this offense. Hopefully Egnew and/or Sims start making some plays as well. I don't like the fact that in our 2 games so far, we've only gotten production out of 4 guys total in the passing game. Need somebody else to step up.

Keller may never play another down in the NFL after that injury.

I am glad to see Charles step up and show the consistency that has been lacking. I liked the draft pick when Clay was taken, but he has been a frustrating player to say the least.

So far in 2 games, he has shown the talent and versatility and playmaking ability that I thought he would bring.

He makes the Dolphins VERY tough to defend, and I hope he keeps it up.

Even if Keller plays in the NFL again, I would be shocked if Keller is on the Dolphins after this season.

I've seen several teams in fantasy leagues I'm in picking up Clay this week.

I hope he plays really well ... I started him in a couple of my fantasy leagues at TE. I can't believe that all of a sudden he becomes consistent, but maybe the light has finally come on.

Dave, I was one of those fans hoping he got cut in preseason as I was so fed up with his inconsistency. So far this season he made me eat those words and I am so glad & my hope is that he keeps it up and maybe now he has that confidence that he needed to get going in the NFL.

Tannehill is forming a bond with him and Sherman is calling good plays to get him into space.

Here is to hoping for a great game against Atlanta today!
