Post Five things to watch for in Dolphins' game vs. Saints
MIAMI—

Five things to watch in the Miami Dolphins' preseason finale against the New Orleans Saints:

Will quarterback Ryan Tannehill continue to be efficient with the first-team offense? Miami's second-year starter is hitting just about every statistical mark the coaches had hoped to see growth in. He's completing 60.7 percent of his passes. He's thrown three touchdowns and no interceptions, and he's only been sacked four times despite troublesome protection. Those numbers lead the way for an impressive 98.6 passer rating, which would be ideal for Tannehill if this were the regular season

Oh geez. Do Tannehill and Miller really need to play in their 5th preseason game?

I don't think Miller does, but Tannehill could still use some extra snaps.

One series. That's it. This is how i like to see preseason work done.

Game 1) Starters for about two drives.

Game 2) Starters for about three drives.

Game 3) Starters for a full half, halftime adjustments, then one drive in the 3rd quarter.

Game 4)One drive, and it's usually a half-hearted one.

In this case, treat the HOF Game like Game 1

Honestly, give our recent struggles at the TE position, I would like to see Tanny get more work than you would usually see in the last preseason game, both to build up some chemistry and just to get more reps for Clay who, let's face it, looked completely lost out there last week.

I wouldn't put the starters in there at all... why risk injury now? We've made it through 4 preseason games with 1 major loss already, and some minor bumps and bruises.

Agreed. Have them prepare like they're going to play...put everything on. Warm-up normally, but don't play them in the actual game.

Do not play Tannehill.. at all. There is no point. He has been more consistent and has shown enough in the preseason.

Let's hope it carries over to the regular season.

For sure, way too many injuries this preseason plus our "entire team" revolves around him. :ann0y:

If Tannehill gets injured, Mike Wallace will no longer be fast.

:awe: :awe:
I agree. No reason at all to put the starters in the game.

I just want someone, anyone, at TE for the Dolphins, to do something good.

I really like Rishard Matthews as a 4th receiver. Very smooth, strong guy catching passes. Has a little Marty Booker in him.

Jamar Taylor looks good. Very smooth in zone, and tight in his coverage so far.

Really love his physical make-up. Let's see if he catches up mentally and (hopefully) beats up Carroll for some playing time soon.

Moore should be the starter anyway. If Tanny plays he might be ruined for life.

He came from out of the backfield, caught the ball in the flat, and turned it up & in. Pretty cool to see Sims mobility and good hands on that play. However, that doesn't answer my redzone target question for this team. I'll hope Ol' Sherman has some tricks up his sleeve but I kinda doubt it
