Is this a new rule?

Looks like college rules to me.

I saw that pic posted on Facebook. When I did a google search, I came up with a bunch of articles like this one:

The NFL is going to eventually have to give in... it's becoming too much. Right now, fantasy football is keeping this league as popular as it is... but we're Americans... we get bored... and fantasy football, some day, will die off.

Once it does, I don't know how long the NFL lasts unless it loosens it's rules. They say they want the players to "have fun", but they restrict any sort of 'fun' that could possibly happen on the field.

NO FUN LEAGUE

It's pathetic.

The problem is that some of the players go over board and it creates a challenge to where does one actually cross the line. It used to be more straight forward, but now people all want to invent their own moves etc.

If you could distinguish that spiking the ball once is OK, giving a salute after a TD is OK, one back flip is OK, dunking over the goal post is OK etc. etc. etc.

But again, some knuckleheads want to do some extravagant celebration and I think the NFL doesn't want to fool with determining which is excessive and which are not, but that is just my opinion.

I personally like some fun in celebrating though and being TOO hardcore with penalties is not something that I approve of at all. If you look at someone on the opposing team after scoring they want to throw a flag, so it is getting ticky tack.

Yikes! Some of yall will be glad to see Odrick's Herman dance go. But what about Wake's 'beast unleashed' post sack move? Does that fall under Incredible Hulk?

Shame. A lot of those actions don't bother anyone or self promote the way a man pounding his chest does. I mean, whats really a problem with a guy knockin one out of the park?

As for the salute . . . Don't try to compare yourself to a soldier, Gamer

Per Brian McCarthy, NFL PR:

Quote:
Celebrations like military salute/spinning ball: only flagged if player does it directly at opponent.

They should allow celebrations within ANY reasonable bounds. Period.

If an opposing player doesn't like it... too bad. He should have done his job better to prevent the TD, TFL, INT, fumble recovery or sack.

Players are adults and frankly I don't care if it hurts their feelings that someone else celebrated.
