It wouldn't surprise me to see BB resurrect Tebow's Career...although I would love a media circus to descend upon NE culminating in QB questions every press conference ....

Well, he finally will get a chance for a QB coach to work with him on his piss poor mechanics and footwork. He needs an Aaron Rodgers type of time to sit and develop.

I know they are saying he is signed as a qb, but maybe bill will talk him into playing TE or RB ?

The OC is the guy that drafted him.

Let the locker room distraction begin.

I'm happy for him. He's in a situation where he knows that he does not have to compete for the starting job. The past year has been very humbling for him as he sees how the NFL views his skill set. I would think that he would be open to do anything that the Patriots ask of him as he knows that he will not be taking any snaps away from Brady.

Unfortunately I guess I'll have to go buy an old Broncos Tebow jersey because there is no way that I will ever wear a Jets of Patriots (or Bills) jersey.

3 ways we could face Tebow. My guess is that he will be used as a pass catching tight end due to their injuries there.

ESPN INSIDER wrote:
Here are three ways that Tebow could fit with the Patriots.

1. Goal-line/short-yardage runner
One of the areas that Tebow excelled in with Denver was as a goal-line and short-yardage situational runner. The Patriots know that full well, as Tebow rushed for two touchdowns in a 2011 regular-season matchup against them when he was the Broncos' starter. The Patriots have Stevan Ridley as their workhorse running back, but Tebow has the build and strength after contact needed to earn tough yards.

2. Option attack
There have been a host of quarterbacks who have put the read-option back on the map in recent seasons, and Tebow has the athletic ability to do the same for the Patriots. He's not a burner with his speed, but his combination of size and agility makes him difficult to bring down. That was part of what made him successful in college at Florida. Of course, part of the read-option involves throwing, and while Tebow has struggled with accuracy, the Patriots will work to improve that to the point that he can be counted on to hurt a team with his arm.

3. Another position/special teams
Yes, Tebow has been a quarterback by trade and has previously insinuated that he has no interest in playing another position, but given the lack of recent interest in his services, it's possible he's willing at this point to do whatever it takes to sustain an NFL career. He stands at 6-foot-3 and close to 240 pounds, a frame big enough to at least give fullback or tight end a shot. He has experience handling the football and we've already touched upon his ability to gain yards in space. He's a bruising runner who is unafraid to initiate contact with defenders. The Jets briefly toyed with Tebow at positions other than quarterback but never appeared to give it a full effort, at least in game action. They did work him on the punt team, and the Patriots may see core special-teams value for Tebow as well.

Smart move by them imo. If you think a player is good enough to make the team and contribute to the success of it then sign him. If it works out good if not, cut him.

Maybe they wanted someone able to run the read-option spread type O to practice against it?

This is actually a good read from bleacherreport on the specifics of Tebow's piss poor mechanics.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1668991-can-bill-belichick-and-josh-mcdaniels-really-fix-tim-tebow?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=cnn-sports-bin&hpt=hp_bn15

A good quote: "Belichick signed Tebow as a favor to Tebow because he likes the guy. Tebow won't be there by end of training camp."

And an interesting quote: "...there is no room in football for a quarterback who can't throw, no matter how much moxie he has"

Hopefully this will be the end of the sideshow. Then Tebow can get on with his life and hopefully do some good things that help people. He can be very capable of that, even if he is not capable of being an NFL quarterback.

The Pittsburgh Steelers defense still remembers what it’s like to lose to Tim Tebow. Three defenders told The Pittsburgh-Tribune Review that they think Tebow can still play in the NFL.

Tebow led the Broncos to a playoff win over the Steelers on January 8, 2012. Linebacker Larry Foote said he thought Tebow at least still deserved a shot at a job. From The Pittsburgh-Tribune Review:

“He won some games, had some success,” Foote said. “We know it first-hand. I think he should be somewhere at least competing for a job. I think he’s earned that.”

Defensive back Ike Taylor, who was burned by the Broncos passing game during the Steelers playoff loss, grudgingly admitted respect. From the report:

“Tim Tebow is real decent,” Taylor said. “But (his future) isn’t up to me. You gotta ask the owners and coaches and GMs. As far as being a competitor, he’s one of the best competitors I’ve seen.”

Tebow threw for 316 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions against the Steelers in 2012. Pittsburgh lineman Brett Keisel agreed that Tebow could still play.

“He beat us. You have to give him credit for that,” Keisel said. “I think he’ll get another shot.”

You know I like the guy. I think leadership is sorely lacking on our Dolphins. We haven't had a field general since Marino and Thomas. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't have leadership, you're not going anywhere. Given that, I thought this deserved serious review....

Well, if he were on our team first and then the Pats picked him up then I'd be really worried.

I thought Ryan Mallett was their project. He didn't even make it into the portrait.

I like Tebow, I want him to do well in the NFL. I am not happy may be with the Patriots. Although I think it will be entertaining if NE beats the Jets with Tebow playing a big role in the games.

Poor Mallet. The middle child always gets overlooked.

"Mallett in the Middle" airing late night Comedy Central.

I am sure Mallet is the backup. Tebow is the Patriots version of our Crash Jenson.
