Well... even if he had allowed a vote on the House floor, the referendum was sure to lose in the election.

With 60,000 early ballots cast, it was losing badly, 57% to 43%.

The people of Miami-Dade were not ready to approve taxes to fund a stadium for a billionaire that has failed to put a winning product on the field thus far.

During a press conference this afternoon, Goodell made it pretty clear that another SB will not be coming to Miami, without significant investment in the facility. He said the competition has drastically improved and the NFL is looking to host future SB's in "state of the art" facilities.

Especially after the DISASTER with the Marlins. I did not think the Dolphins had a chance after the bitter taste that the Marlins situation left in people mouths.

Ross had about 60-70% of the money. Why not get private funding for the rest of the stadium renovations.

What happened with the Marlins??
I'm not a local nor a Marlins fan so I am not familiar with the fallout on that.

New Orleans couldn't even keep the lights on.

Miami has officially joined the likes of San Diego. Out of the Super Bowl loop forever until they get a new stadium or upgrades. And both teams will always be linked to being moved to a new city unless that happens.

The fact that Robert Kraft (the defacto leader of the owners) went public today and said the city of Miami and the taxpayers need to step up and help out with financing upgrades/new stadium is also a warning sign that if Ross or the next owner wants to move the team out of Miami, the current owners won't stop it from happening!!

F@@k Robert Kraft and the whole talk about moving the Dolphins. I have heard and read talk of Palm Beach willing to give land for the Dolphins to build a new stadium, and if they want to go that route and get financing from Palm Beach, I'm fine with that.

The city of Miami got duped and duped bad by the Marlins and some dumb a@@ politicians. I can understand being reluctant to fork out tax payer money when you are talking about a city that is struggling.

Phin, just google Miami Marlins stadium deal and you will see a bunch of stories. Read one and you will understand what is going on.

I don't like down there, but Boca, or just outside Boca sounds like a good spot.

You can read a little about the Marlins stadium deal here
http://larrybrownsports.com/baseball/marlins-david-samson-season-ticket-sales/132509

Living in Palm Beach I really dont see this happening. Boca has no land left & who wants a pink stadium anyway. The upities in charge there will never approve it fearing a "baseball" crowd might diminish home values.
I wonder if the Marlins stadium can accommodate a super bowl? I mean you have a basically state of the art facility sitting empty on the grounds of the old orange bowl.
Look , alot of stadiums have never had a super bowl & never will. Miami will just have to get used to it. I think the Dolphins will be at the stadium they are at (whatever we are calling it this week) for a very long time.
