Do the Miami Dolphins have a weakness at running back?

Morning take: Some who didn’t watch Miami often last year could view it that way. Lamar Miller is a virtual unknown to many NFL fans, but he was very good with limited opportunities. Daniel Thomas and rookie Mike Gillislee also provide quality depth. I think Miami’s tailbacks are better than advertised.

I have no worries about the run game... any analyst who says our run game is weak clearly hasn't watched any tape on our current stable of backs.

Miller showed some real good flashes... and if the position somehow doesn't deliver what we thought, I an almost guarantee the likes of Bradshaw and Benson will still be available.

But the run game is not just about running backs. It is also about how the offensive line and tight ends block.

We don't know who will be starting aside from Mike Pouncey, our 1st string tight end is not known for his blocking, in fact, he is quite bad at it, and our blocking tight end is a rookie.

So, we may have all the talent in the world in the backfield, but our run game may still be a weakness because of blocking.

I agree and let's hope that Philbins OL background is WAAAAY better than Sparano's OL background because I feel we have a good (not great) pieces to have 1500+ yards rushing but it's going to take time to develope and Philbin needs to speed that progression along.

We would be ranked in the bottom of the league if we only had 1500 yards rushing....

Dang, you're right. 1500 yards would put us at 27th in rushing in the NFL last year.
