Bring him in if there is a plan to use him that fits the Phins. If not well there is your answer.

Even if the staff could formulate a plan to use him as a quarterback (because he's unwilling to change position), I don't want the media circus that follows him.

I think our staff is pretty happy with Pat Devlin for the time being. While I could see them bringing in someone to push him in training camp. I doubt it's going to be Tebow. Everywhere the man goes the circus comes to town. He's a huge distraction, and quite frankly someone we don't need.

That said, I think Tebow will find a team somewhere that can use him. When Denver used him as a redzone / wildcat quarterback he was actually an effective member of that football team. Whoever is going to get Tebow, they need to use him in a similar fashion.

If your team is struggling in the redzone, is struggling to sell tickets, and could handle the two-headed quarterback situation, then Tebow is a fit. But there are very few teams that I think fit that criteria. The only one that comes to mind is Jacksonville.

I doubt there is an NFL team that is interested. It's time for Timmy Time to move on to things outside the NFL. I think both Tebow and the NFL would be better off that way

There you go. And definitely be smart about finding a way to tone down the media when it comes to Tebow. We could use his talent as an HB but definitely not the media circus.

Quote:
From a football standpoint, the Dolphins shouldn’t be interested in Tebow. From a business standpoint, they should be at the front of the line. Even if they’re the only ones in the line.

Tebow sells tickets. More immediately, he could motivate Tebowmaniacs to get to the polls on May 13 to vote in favor of a proposal that would contribute significant public money to the effort to renovate Sun Life Stadium

Tebow cleared waivers and is now a UFA. Where he goes depends on whether he wants to be a starting QB or whether he can embrace the HB role.

All we need are the idiots to start
Chanting "Tebow" the first time Tannehill has a bad game.
No thank you.

The guy was 6th string on the Jets....'nuff said

Unfortunately, I don't see Tebow playing an HB type role. I watched a tape breakdown and they discussed that he runs too stiff going out for passes and his hands aren't great either. To me, he is a redzone asset as a QB, that's it. The Jets did not utilize him at all last year and probably may have ruined his career moving forward.

I would have loved to see what he could have done with our 2008 Wildcat offense & I thought Sparano would have installed that in the offense, especially when the Jets were terrible and what do you have to lose, but that's why he is back being a line coach.

Yes, maybe that plan is to use up a roster space on a player they don't need and can't use and cause all sorts of controversies in the process.

Sounds like a winning formula.

I heard Mark Sanchez threw a going away party for Tim Tebow, but it was intercepted and returned for a touchdown

Wow Rich, I think your plan is weak. I would not be in favor of it and doubt if the Phins will be either but that is just my opinion of course. ; )

I respect Tebow as a person, but can we all agree on that he sucks as a football player on the NFL level? I've been saying this when he was first drafted, right Junkie? Argue all you want guys, but if he was anything, he wouldn't have cleared waivers....H-Back, QB, Special teams, it doesn't matter, bye bye Tebow.

I disagree. He's a good football player. He's a horrendous QB. Plenty of teams made inquiries about Tebow wanting him to play other positions (HB, TE, whatever). The reason Tebow isn't in the league isn't that he's not a good football player and no one wants him, it's that he can't put his pride aside and admit that the quarterback thing isn't happening for him at this level.

So 31 other teams have asked him this? Do you really think the Jet's said to him "Tim, you can play football, not QB, so if you are stubborn we are going to cut you". "yes sir, I want to play QB coach/GM". I doubt it Chris.

I didn't say that all 31 other teams did, but unless the reports are inaccurate (which is always a possibility, we have to admit) SOME teams did contact the team/his agent/Tebow himself about being interested in him if he were to switch positions.

I didn't read any reports. Time will tell, but I would have to pass, he is a distraction and who's roster would he take up? Switching positions hardly ever work so why bother.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you there. There's not a chance that I would want him on this roster. No matter the position, he's too much of a headache for me, and I sincerely hope the organization feels the same way.

Ross can over rule on this. He would love to have Tebow. If not to play football he can perform marriage ceremonies at halftime.

I keep hearing he can play other positions......Thats what the Jets thought

He sucked at TE... Watch the Dolphin game last year...The ball bouncing off his head..Not turning around...It was about as bad as ive seen from an NFL player.

He is a back up qb...But his existence is to much of distraction to have on any team.

Ok so I'm listening to The Herd this morning and all I keep hearing is Tebow and Dolphins. Please tell me we didn't sign or are thinking about signing him and I didn't hear anything.
Cowherd is repeatedly saying why would Miami do this?

Please tell me something fellas!!!!!

If anyone wanted him they would wait until he cleared waivers and pay him at a lower salary.

Alas, even fans like me have a hard time believing he can't play QB in the NFL after having such a phenomenal career at Florida. Let's be honest here ... even top receivers don't want to catch balls from him because their stats drop and they don't see the ball.

I disagree completely. Tebow is a victim of his own popularity; moreover, a relentless media which no matter what happened on the field always had a Tebow question. It is a media circus. There is no team, no organization that wants that kind of attention. I specifically think Ryan didn't play Tebow because he knew he play welll enough to warrent consideration...and therefore tough to get rid of. A john Fox view of the world. Unfortunately, he's not a great QB...just a good football player and being only good with that kind of media attention...is a death sentence.

BTW...Tebow still had a better rookie QB season than John Elway and a host of other successful NFL QBs. I don't think he was given the right opportunity to play and that is unfortunate. I think at this point his career is probably over. So maybe guys like Phil Simms can start banging on RG3 for his Christianity.

Ryan could get fired if he doesn't turn the ship around immeditaly. YOu think he wouldn't put in a popular QB that he thinks could win games.

Actually, I think he's a joke of a coach. But that article is even more of a joke.
With leading yet completely incorrect statements such as...

Quote:
No NFL team seems to want him — as a starter, backup, converted H-back or fake-punt decoy

Teams were interested in him as an H-back, but Tebow said he would not consider a job as anything but a QB.

And misleading statements such as...

Quote:
Clearly, even after shredding what was then the NFL's top-ranked defense for 316 passing yards in that Jan. 2012 playoff triumph

He failed to mention that the Steelers D was completely decimated by injuries at that point. A shell of itself. Seems like a valid point to mention, unless you want to mislead your readers with grandios talk of "triumph".

And obvious understatments such as...

Quote:
Tebow still has some serious refinement to do in order to bring his game to NFL-starter standards.

"Refinement"????? Give me a break!

And leaving out painfully obvious conclusions after statement such as...

Quote:
and it's not like he's fending off big-money offers from Canada, either.

So... 32 NFL teams and no Canadian team wants him. Hmmmm....along the way a LOT of smart, and several less than smart, talent evaluators have decided that a 24 year old who is only starting to get down the absolute basics, like footwork, probably isn't the solution.

In the end of the day, the NFL is a dog-eat-dog world. Guys who are worth a chance, even Michael Vick, Cecil Collins and Maurice Clarett got their shots. Tebow had his. And when you take all factors into consideration, he couldn't even make 5th string on the Jets.

Never has such a bad QB or player at any other position ever been given so much attention by fans deperate to see him do well.

I hope for Tebow's sake he can forget about an NFL career. He can do so much more AND be successful at it. Maybe he can inspire his fans to do productive things, rather than put up petitions on the white house web site to force the Jaguars to sign him, or waste money on billboards calling for him to start. Imagine if those fans put that effort and money into something productive...????
