Don Jones has been quietly making his name familiar NFL Scouts. Finishing his season his senior season with54 tackles, 6 1/2 for losses and an interception he became an All Sunbelt Conference selection and earned a trip to the Texas versus the nation game.

OmarKelly Even though Don Jones played safety at Arkansas State he's under the impression he'll be used as a cornerback and nickel by the Dolphins.

"The Alabama state champion in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dash in high school clocked 4.42- and 4.40-second 40-yard dashes at his pro day. Because he runs so well, he has the potential to be a corner."

" He fits the rover defender label in terms of having experience as an in the box safety, slot corner, and weak side linebacker. He is physical at each spot."

" It is difficult to peg where Jones could be selected, but the third-round is not far fetched."

"Draft czar Gil Brandt reports some are concerned over how Arkansas State S Don Jones will pick up a team's system."

No surprise with this pick. Me and Tony mocked him to Miami consistently. Took him off my last mock because I thought he'd go higher than the 7th round.

Safety/Corner hybrid. Special Teams guy early with a chance to develop, probably as a safety.

He did. I checked your you tube post on your blog and I like what I saw in Don. Played a lot up close in the box and on the slot WR. His game reminds me of what Kenny Vacarro does for Texas.

Coyle has to be absolutely pumped with the attention the defense got this year. With the majority of our top picks going to the offense last year, he has probably been pounding the table to get a fresh batch of "his guys". I think we might have seen the last of guys like Jimmy Wilson, Nolan Carrol, etc.
