Thank the Lord!!!! So sick of Thomas. Pretty sad when you can be sure that a 5th round pick will push a 2nd rounder right off the roster.

Don't be too quick to judge. Camp tells all. This is a 5th rd RB after all.

He only has to beat out Thomas.....shouldn't be too hard.

For a 5th rounder? They may be on par.

Finally a kid that I have followed (since I live in FL.). He isn't that fast I believe a 4.5 forty and he doesn't make quick decisions at the line. However, he hasn't really been the feature back until his senior year. He is kind of an unknown so he shoudl improve. Value pick for sure.

Watch the tape. Have you ever seen DT run as shifty and straightforward as this guy does?

The highlights seem to show him being decisive, one cut and go. Really nice lateral movement. Straight ahead speed is fine too. How is he at blocking for the QB?

Now we've got a Cane and a Gator in the backfield.

I like MG. Only had one bad game last year, against SC. Still a bit scary how our RB corps are two unknowns and Thomas, though.

Lamar Miller looked very good last year. Explosive. I think he easily gets 1,000+ yards in 2013 and really expect to see him closer to 1200 yards.

Gillislee, and just about any decent RB prospect, should be an improvement over Thomas and his lofty draft position.

Mike Gillislee is a very nice RB, and the thing I live about him more than anything is he has a lot of life left on the tread. This was his 1st full year being the featured back and he had 1,152 yards and 10 touchdowns for a Gator team that did not have much of a passing game.

As I said in my write up, very nice fit for a zone blocking scheme.

Gillislee's vision is ridiculous. Great fit for a zone scheme. Not a HR guy, but good 2nd gear. Lamar Miller is definitely the guy though.

I would have liked to see Ray Graham at this spot as he's got better hands and more shiftiness.

I saw him dancing last year, hopefully he can contribute and I believe he can.

Ray has got the off field incident and an injury history as well Alex. That a tough combination, especially with Joe Philbin.

That's what I got out of the tape as well. Not a lot of YAC but that's probably because people couldn't lay a glove on him. I didn't see a lot of top end speed. It was probably a good selection but I don't see this guy being a threat to anyone's job until he takes it. I do like his run to daylight instincts

Seems to be a real effort the past couple years to pick guys from Florida teams....Something they got away from for quite a while.

Helps ticket sales?

love this pick. Gillislee is productive.
Love the Sturgis pick too. I've been begging for that guy.

This was one of my guys. I had him going to us in the 5th in almost every single one of my mock drafts. He's going to be an excellent 3rd down back to split carries with Miller. Love the pick.

Another wasted pick or I guess I should say picks since Miami traded 3 to move up for him.

I remember nearly breaking my television when we drafted Thomas.

I was not happy with the pick either & it hurts worse that Miami traded up for him & left DeMarco Murry on the board.

Gillislee was way underdrafted. Should've gone ahead of at least 3-4 of the backs picked ahead of him, if not more. You're talking about a team-first guy who works hard and never complains ... AND is very productive when you put the ball in his hands. One reason he went in the fifth round is because there was not a lot of tape on him. But when you put up 1,000 yards (and are Florida's first 1K+ rusher since 2004) in the SEC against the defenses that UF faced this year, you're talented. Period.

He is a very good blocker, also has good hands for screens. Could work out nicely, however I see him as a replacement for Thomas.
He and the TE I feel were drafted more for the ability to block than the ability to be big play types.

Very proud of myself for Tweeting this pick 30 sec before it happened! I LOVE IT!!! this kid will give Lamar Miller a real challenge in camp (won't take his job though) and absolutely send Daniel Thomas to another team!

:yay:

Nah. Good players. Franchise center, starting kicker, potential starting LB, contributing running back/special teamer.

Ya i think thats why they seem to grade a little higher. Last year it was the Hurricanes. Something Shula use to take advantage of...

Watched Gillislee play in the sr bowl...He was the best rb.
