I just posted that story from Yahoo in your earlier post. Yeah, he not getting Jake Long money. I'm thinking 7-7.5 mill/per year at the most.

Whether it's for 6, 7, or 8 million per year, I'll take the proven veteran for only a second round pick over having to trade up in the draft to grab a rookie who may or may not produce.

Albert is an upgrade in pass protection over Long, but he's a step back in terms of his run blocking. But overall, he's a solid top ten tackle. If he's not willing to sign long term just yet, but he's interested in playing for Miami long term, I have no problem with the Dolphins swinging a draft day deal for a 3rd round pick. Make him play out his franchise deal and we'll hash out a long term deal next year.
Also, another reason to do the deal on draft day is that after the Chiefs draft Joeckel 1st overall, they'll be desperate to move Albert and get something for him. Who knows, maybe they'll be desperate enough to move him for a 4th. Deal or no deal, I think he's worth the risk for a 4th. We've got to protect Tannehill.
